Pregnancy Piles/Hemmorhoids Cure - Maybe?

Selflove123 · 16/02/2019 20:35

This is my first post on Mumsnet and I don't feel like this particular remedy has been mentioned - apologies in advance if it has - it's a homeopathic medicine by Healing Natural Oils, called "H-Hemorrhoids Formula" (picture attached).

Has anyone tried it, I can't find much about it in the UK, however, it seems to have helped a lot of people in the US (available in the UK and USA).

As many other mum's, I too have been blessed with external piles and in a desperate bid to find a cure, I'll try anything!

Is this the same as "formula H"? Been similarly blessed with external piles in the last few days and been googling! Heard of this but didn't read into much info about it. Currently using anusol which I think helps a bit. Until the next bowel movement anyway...

NannyPear · 16/02/2019 20:51

Nope just realised I read about preparation H! Good luck in your search, let me know if you find anything good!

Selflove123 · 16/02/2019 20:52

To be clear, I've tried numerous creams with/without steroid, suppositories and this seems to be the last hope. Sad

If there's anything anyone else has done, tried and tested and worked, please share also! Flowers

Haven't tried this but creams combined with drinking prune juice has helped me a lot this pregnancy Blush

Selflove123 · 16/02/2019 20:54

Nannypear I've tried Anusol with and without HC and nothing happened, although the internal piles disappeared after I had stopped using the suppositories.

Does having the baby help?? (Assuming you're pregnant posting in the pregnancy section, sorry if I'm wrong).
Pretty sure it was digestive trouble that caused them, but I wonder if when the pressure from the uterus is relieved they settle down a bit. Wishful thinking perhaps!

Selflove123 · 16/02/2019 20:59

ApplestheHare I'll be making sure I avoid constipation at all costs, in future pregnancies, if this hasn't scarred me forever in the meantime. Sad
Has prune juice helped you stay 'flowing' without constipation or diarrhoea? If TMI to ask, sorry. X

Piles - what can u say!
What creams have they given u or have u used?

Redken24 · 16/02/2019 21:00

I have uniroid and ultraproct n cupboard because anusol does not work

Selflove123 · 16/02/2019 21:02

Nannypear Yes, it was because of the baby pushing everything downwards. My baby is 5 weeks now and nothing seems to be helping. Sadly, I gained them during pregnancy, but they don't seem to want to leave.

Redken24 I've used one that I can't remember the name of, Anusol, Anusol HC + suppositories and currently Scheriproct. Scheriproct seemed to help for a couple of days and then did nothing for me since, except numb the pain for a while.

I've resorted to eating figs, slowly changing my diet and will now be drinking Lactulose to help soften the flow.

I read an article from a woman who seemed to be in the same position and she swore by the oil + ACV and the reviews on Amazon seem to show many positive outcomes for many women who got them during pregnancy.

Hydration will definitely help. Drink as much water as you can stand.
How bad are they did they doctor say?
Piles are the devil's work.

Justus22 · 16/02/2019 21:20

I got them for the first time after my last birth, my smallest baby at just 7.6lbs yet pushing him out pushed out a lot more. It took me two weeks and lots of anusol suppositories and cream to get back to normal and despite them popping back out now and then if I strain (sorry for tmi) they no longer give me any discomfort but I've not given birth since then and I am terrified this will happen again when I do so if there are any miracle cures or preventions I'd love to know too please. Xx

Selflove123 · 16/02/2019 21:27

Justus22 I think the next best thing would be this product. People have been raving about how it's helped them after years of having piles but getting no relief with anything except for this. I'm going to try it and see what it does, if anything.

Redken24 I've not been told how bad they are but I know they hurt more than anything else in the world. I did ask for an alternative because creams are doing nothing much for me and my Doctor referred me to get them surgically removed. I really don't want that Sad

OP posts:
Mammatron · 16/02/2019 21:34

Unfortunately creams don't remove them, just help with itching and pain. They may go back by themselves after birth or you might need surgery as I did 😭

Selflove123 · 16/02/2019 21:41

mamamatron how did your surgery go? Would you recommend it?

OP posts:
happytocomply · 16/02/2019 22:16

That oil looks like it's homeopathic so you might as well save yourself a bit of cash and just use sunflower oil or whatever you have hanging about in your cupboards.

I have the joy of piles again this pregnancy (currently 37 weeks) and last pregnancy I had internal/external piles plus anal fissures post partum so I'm not unsympathetic! I can recommend lots of prunes, fybogel and drinking lots and lots of fluids.

Mammatron · 16/02/2019 22:28

I'm not sure if I'd recommend it, it would really depend how much they're bothering you. The recovery was absolutely awful- about 2 weeks of agony and in those 2 weeks I really really regretted getting it done. But now that it's all healed (and the pain somewhat forgotten!) I am glad I had it done, my bums not completely back to its pre-pregnancy state (I've still got a mild prolapse, delightful I know!!) but it is much better than before and isn't causing me any discomfort now. I hope yours fix themselves!!

Petitprince · 16/02/2019 22:38

Is there a way to fix them other than surgery? Can they put an elastic band round them or did i dream that?

Mammatron · 16/02/2019 22:45

@Petitprince if I remember correctly, banding and stapling are just for internal piles. External have to be surgically removed

Selflove123 · 16/02/2019 22:56

happytocomply I don't just feel for you, I also feel your pain. I've dealt with a whole host of issues, like yourself. I'm hoping some day someone on mumsnet posts an actual cure and at this point, I'll happily try anything except for surgery - even homeopathic. 😪

mammatron you're so brave, I'm still not ready for surgery even though I'm at wits end.

Cakeandslippers · 16/02/2019 23:02

Oh it's horrendous isn't it! Are you taking lactulose? I'd recommend it, the anusol did relieve the pain slightly for me but it got worse every time I went, the lactulose softens everything which I found gave things time to heal, probably was more or less better about 5 weeks after birth. You can take it when pregnant and breastfeeding... think most things you can't. Good luck... it is honestly the worst so I have much sympathy!

Selflove123 · 17/02/2019 01:46

cakeandslippers I've been taking it on and off. Will be taking it properly now as I think it's more about the soft stool + treatment combo that'll help it.

OP posts:
Cakeandslippers · 17/02/2019 17:43

Yeah I think it only works properly after you've been taking it for about 3 days too so worth keeping up with it. Fingers crossed you feel better soon x

Selflove123 · 17/02/2019 23:47

cakeandslippers thank you. I'm going to purchase this oil and see how it actually goes, along with the laxative and I'm going to look for a good probiotic too. Hopefully all this will help. If it does, I'll come back to this thread and update you all. ❤Smile
