Hello, I'm just interested if and when anyone has experienced Braxton Hicks contractions?
I'm currently 29 weeks, and am having them fairly frequently. I know it's all normal so I'm not worried but thought others may wish to share their experiences :)

Hey, I'm currently 29 weeks too (30 tomorrow) and having them all the time! But finding them uncomfortable and more painful than people described.

When I spoke to my midwife her reacting was trying to comfort me by telling me most woman don't find them painful which has only made me feel stupid and silly for complaining..

Good luck with the last 10 weeks of your pregnancy xx

Mine started at 23 weeks. My ds was born at 29 weeks for the so I've been really anxious about them. Sometimes they come as regularly as every 3 minutes and I need to go and get checked. Im at 27 weeks and now diagnosed with "irritable uterus" and have been signed off work with them. They can feel really intense and sometimes sore but so far my cervix has remained firmly closed thankfully!

@Daisyandme I'm sorry you find them so uncomfortable. I admit, sometimes they are worse than others.

@KateTTC123 oh wow, that was an early one!

I went into hospital to be monitored last week because of a change in movement and they were a little concerned at the time about them. They wanted me to have further tests to see the likelihood of me going into labour in the next two weeks but the doctor said he was happy with the chart so didn't.
I find they tend to start when I stand up if I've been sitting, not every time but a lot. Occasionally it'll just happen at any time though.

I've been having them for the last couple of months and was admitted in early January as they were concerned that baby was reacting to them. Managed to get them under control with medication though. I'm now 36 weeks and frankly struggling with them, they come and go but a couple of times they have been strong, regular and painful enough for me to consider it might be the real thing. But they did calm down eventually.

@purplestar9 I have the same problem as you - getting up triggers them as does turning too quickly, being on my feet for more than a few minutes and sitting back down again. Basically any kind of exertion. Honestly, you can't win 🤦🏼‍♀️

@HidCat thank you for sharing your experience. It's nice to know there are others out there! Mine tend to come in waves at the moment, won't have any for half a day then suddenly a few in 20-30 mins but then nothing again. Afternoons and evenings are definitely the worst though!

@purplestar9 the problem I have now is paranoia that despite having been through spontaneous labour before, I won't realise it's the real thing this time around...

@HidCat I can imagine how anxious that must make you feel. I hope everything goes well for you!
