What can I do to make it go back up?

I really think you ought to go to hospital and be checked over.

lickencivers · 16/02/2019 12:20

I'm being a but dramatic I think. I work for ambulance service. If I was treating a patient with low BP I would raise their legs etc But I've got shit to do and I want to go out tonight!!!!

Have you passed out because you are vomiting?

I also think you should go to hospital - you may need rehydration.

Are you lying flat on the floor, feet up, drinking gallons of fluids and eating something salty in the meantime?

askingalways · 16/02/2019 12:21

Get checked out.

Why would you do anything else?

AnnaMagnani · 16/02/2019 12:23

Don't be your own doctor! Behave like a patient Smile

So lying on the floor, drinking fluids and getting checked over by someone else

lickencivers · 16/02/2019 12:26

No vomiting
Came over quickly now sat on floor

Home alone with DD whos pre teen and can't drive me any where so will be staying put.

Will DH be home soon? Or will another adult be able to take you to hospital if you don't feel better? In the meantime take @AnnaMagnani's advice re eating drinking and lying down!

AnnaMagnani · 16/02/2019 12:39

Have never been pregnant but am an experienced fainter Grin

Lots of fluid. Something to eat that is sugary. Packet of crisps too. Be prepared to lie on the floor - don't sit up - a long time, and then go to bed and feel crap for a longtime.

If this is going to be you, then you need to be drinking a lot every day and you also need salt to keep your BP up. Especially first thing in the morning.

lickencivers · 16/02/2019 13:01

I don't really think it's an A&E job tbh

Is this normal in pregnancy? I've never felt this before with other pregnancies. BP normally 120/70 ish and this is a drastic drop for me, especially as symptomatic.

Mine got really low like that. Drink loads. I was advised to drink lots of water, avoid caffeine and eat more salt ! So a packet of crisps and a pint of water for you.

SnailorSwift · 16/02/2019 13:09

Not necessarily A&E no but would be considering contacting admissions at your maternity unit if things don't improve.

Cazziebo · 16/02/2019 13:21

I had very low BP when pregnant (usually low anyway). Fainted often, especially if I had to stand eg supermarket checkout queue.

Advice was to lie flat whenever I started to feel dizzy, eat something every two hours and TAKE IT EASY.

Graphista · 16/02/2019 20:57

I have naturally low bp, prone to fainting anyway inc ortho hypo, spent most of first few months of pregnancy with dd craving salt and fainting regularly. Horrible.

I mentioned to midwife who checked my history and was basically "not surprising with your history you're just unlucky, when you start to feel faint sit or lie down ASAP even if it means the floor of the supermarket purely to avoid doing yourself an injury, home feet up and fluids in ASAP after a spell - and DRINK MORE" I seem to lack the thing that tells me I'm thirsty - problem all my life I can easily go over 20 hours forgetting to drink and then feel "odd" and realise.

Good to get checked over if low bp not normal for you though, especially when pregnant.

Daisyandme · 16/02/2019 23:41

Drink plenty and eat salty foods. My check in bp at the start was 115/60 and since has dropped to 91/52 (highest it's been since) and I've suffered with fainting often. I've been to my doctors on numerous occurs and they just advise me to drink, drink and drink more water. I try have 500ml every hour now.

But definitely go get checked out!! It's important they note it on your file and keep it monitored xx

My mother ate some licorice daily to get a higher blood pressure. It's one of the ingredients in licorice that helps but I don't remember which one.

mommysharkdodo · 17/02/2019 00:04

I faint quite often before and during my pregnancy. I was advised by my midwife to go to a&e every time I faint so that they can do all checks and keep everything in record. I always feel like I'm wasting their time as it's always only ever my blood pressure dropping but when there's a little life involved too it's better to be safe than sorry!

mommysharkdodo · 17/02/2019 00:05

Also my midwife advised glucose tablets for whenever I start to feel a little funny to boost my blood sugar!
