Kick Counting App

Does anyone know of an app where I can easily track when I feel movement? I’ve tried a few but they all seem to do “sessions” and then individual kicks which I’m not interested in. I’d like to be able to hit a button saying that I’m feeling movement now and then look at a graph showing me a general pattern. Just that baby is usually active at so and so times, etc.

Is there an easier way of tracking movement? Do I need to just carry a notebook around with me?

My midwife at first appointment said they don't count kicks anymore as not very accurate as gets Mum's worried over nothing. Just to monitor pattern when you most likely to move

How far along are you? I was worried I wouldn't be able to recognise a pattern but I've been quite surprised how easy it has been to do so without an app or notebook etc. I'm quite confident now with when I expect movements and have been to the hospital twice with reduced movements so far.
For example, I know off the top of my head that I expect baby to be moving early in the morning (usually around 4-5am!), she has a wriggle in the car on the way to work and most of the morning (mainly because I'm sitting down in a quiet office) and then the kicks and big movements happen in the evening and at bedtime.

@literategiraffe I'm 25 weeks and wasn't tracking anything because I thought I didn't need to until later. But yesterday I didn't feel the baby move all day which was unusual, so called the hospital. They had me come in and found the HB, thank goodness.

But it made me feel like I should have a better idea of when the baby moves during the day. It was late at night and I knew that I usually would have felt something by then, but wasn't really sure when.

I don't want to literally count every kick, I just want to know the general pattern better.

I had the same thing at about 24 weeks, a whole morning with no baby wriggles, nightmare! My midwife told me they wouldn't expect a routine until about 28 wks but if I was worried to go into the hospital to get checked, which is exactly what you did and what you should always do if you're worried!

But at 25 wks I wasn't 100% confident and baby hadn't really got a proper routine yet either but as the weeks have progressed (I'm 31 wks now) she has developed one and it's recognisable without thinking about it. I'm sure you will too.

But the bottom line is, if you're worried call your midwife or antenatal clinic (we self refer where I am). I've been in twice and the second time I felt like such an idiot cos the minute monitor went on baby started kicking and wriggling so much you could see it. The midwife even said she'd prefer I came in 100 times with no problems than not.

Yes, I wasn’t going to start tracking until 28 weeks but an entire day with zero movements was alarming. Not even a faint wriggle!

I’m grateful to the midwife I saw, she was really lovely and didn’t make me feel stupid at all. She even told me to come back in today if I was still concerned.
