Last year I had a MC so when I found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago, I was scared as well as excited. With every twinge I feared the worst. I had very light bleeding when I wiped a few weeks ago so called EPU who brought me in for a scan at 6 weeks. As it was so early, they could only see the pregnancy sac and told me to come back in 2 weeks. I went back today and there was only a littlespec in the sac and no heartbeat which was devastating. They have given me some options, 1 of which is to wait it out and let it pass itself. Has anyone else went through this? How long did it take to come on itself? It's awful knowing it's still inside you and you have the pregnancy symptoms still 😢

I'm so very sorry to hear that, @DBM2018. I can't offer any advice but just wanted to provide a hand hold until someone else comes along who can help. Thanks

Hi
I’m sorry to hear you are going through this.
In a similar situation and after spotting for three weeks I’m going in on Friday to have medical management xx

Justkeepleft · 13/02/2019 19:00

I am so sorry. It is heart breaking. The waiting sucks. I waited but eventually had to have a d&c. The second time I opted for te d&c asap as the waiting was not good for my mental health.

So sorry to hear this. I had the same last year but opted for medical management as I didn't want to wait for the inevitable. Don't rule anything out and have a good think about your options, and take care of yourself.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I experienced the same thing. I couldn’t deal with waiting for nature to take it’s course. In the end I opted for surgical management and went in as day patient to have a GA. I think is was still about 8 days wait for an appointment and nothing had happened by then. I felt this was the best option for me as it would get it over and done with quicker.

DBM2018 · 13/02/2019 19:23

Thanks all.
When I had the Mc last year I didn't cope at all. I had a breakdown and went to see a counsellor so waiting for it to happen naturally is probably not the best idea for me. I am back next Wed for a check up so I'll ask for medical management then if nothing happens itself.

So sorry youre going through this, its devastating.
I had a miscarriage, think I was around 6 weeks and it was just like my period had started. I had light bleeding and it got worse.
I bled for about a week, and I was told to expect clotting, I had a larger clot which I think was the baby.

Please don't give up hope though.
I was convinced I'd never get pregnant again but I'm now 6 weeks off giving birth.

Sometimes there's no explanation for why miscarriages happen, sometimes its because baby wouldn't have developed properly.

Just take it easy xx hope you feel "better" soon xx

DBM2018 · 13/02/2019 20:42

Thanks dobbysmum. You just never think it's going to happen to you at all never mind twice. Now I'm questioning whether I even want to try again. Don't think I could cope with another MC. I already have a son so I know I'm lucky. But considering going private to check for any issues before trying again

So sorry this has happened to you. I had similar last year also at 8-9 weeks, it happened naturally about 2 days later. I was surprised how fast it was. I had expected to be doing down the road of surgical management. I found it very upsetting and a bit traumatic. It took a week start to finish and the 2nd-3rd day was the worst of it. I hope it happens quickly and as stress free as possible.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 13/02/2019 21:30

@DBM2018 we went through similar, MC then MMC.

I opted for a D&C. Similarly to you, it had been a very stressful pregnancy and I felt as though I’d suffered enough. I just wanted to draw a line under it and move on.

I can recommend the procedure 100%. I was in and out within the day and had no ill effects.

MadeForThis · 13/02/2019 22:53

I had a mmc at 11 weeks but baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks. I wanted the surgical option but the earliest available time was 10 days later.

Mc happened itself 3 days later. It was awful but I was glad that it happened by itself. No complications.
