I've been induced twice. Years ago with DS and last year with DD and I will be induced again this year due to health conditions.

With DS I was induced because he was late. Went in about 6pm, was shown to my bed on the ward and soon after had pessary inserted. Around 10pm I was having contractions then moved to the Labour suite as I was 4cm dilated. DS was born 10.45 the next morning. I had plenty pain relief and an epidural and labour was quick and straight forward.

Last year I was admitted for pre-eclampsia at 34 weeks and induced at 36 weeks. Had the pessary at 9am, contracting by 2pm, regular by 6pm and every minute apart by 10pm. Waters broke about 7am the next morning and I was moved to the Labour suite. There I had gas and air and morphine while I waited for someone to give me an epidural. Once that was done I slept from about 12 noon to 5.30pm. Woke up feeling pressure down below. Midwife told me I just needed a top up of the epidural as it started to wear off. Turns out I was fully dilated and needed to push soon but she was stalling to hive DP time to return from the cafe where she sent him for a cup of coffee. As soon as DP returned we got ready and 3 pushes and DD was out. It was such an easy birth. No tears, or bruising, nothing. Straight forward like the time before 😊

You'll be fine, you will be offered plenty pain relief if you need it so just go with it and enjoy it. Labour isn't all bad and scary, it's actually amazing. And please don't listen to horror stories about inductions. Every Labour and birth are different. This will be my 4th baby and I've not had a bad experience yet 😁
