Too scared to do a pregnancy test

I think I'm pregnant 🙈 I'm over a week late and have a few early symptoms. We've been using condoms since July because other contraception wasn't agreeing with me. I'm too scared to take a test, we already have 5 children and was discussing me having my tubes tied 🙈

Not really sure why I've posted but I haven't told dh and I don't know what to do. Have name changed for this 😬

@toomuchtoolittle welldone least u will know one way or another... only jus seen your post from yesterday... although will be stressful jus think how amazing that would be!! Gettin the baby without the ttc or dreaded tww etc also try to think how u will feel now if ir comes back negative (relieved/ disapointed) that will tell u how u truly feel about it...
U hav 5 children it cant be much more stressful/expensive and just think of that little smile thats waiting to greet you and negative family members now that will totally melt down when they see it 😍😍 how do u find having 5? Debating my 5th... really do hopw u get the reault u want xx

So I'm trying to guess how far along I am.

First day of last period was 2nd jan, DTD on the 13th (I know because we were away) and then about 2 weeks later. After that it's been illness after illnesses in this house. Then I realised I'd missed my period. I'm just over 6 weeks if I go by first day of last period but didn't dtd until 11 days later. How am I working this out? Silly question I know after so many pregnancy but I've never tracked before. I only know about the 2nd because I remember thinking " what a shit start to the year" 😂 can anyone help?

You use your first day of last period OP, doesn’t matter if you didn’t DTD 11 days later because pregnancy isn’t calculated from conception. You’ll get a more accurate date at your scan.

Can I just ask if you don't mind...you say you were using condoms? I'm on the pill as we can't afford a baby but then I thought to myself that if I ever forgot to take it (although I never have done, on 3-hour window with mini pill) we could rely on condoms until I took the follow-up pills to cover me? Not sure how reliable they are though?

Well they've pretty reliable up until now (2 years on and off) and I never noticed it split or anything so I'm not sure what happened 🤦🏻‍♀️ don't think I'd use them again as an only contraceptive.

Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely make sure I take the pill without fail! My fiance doesn't have any children and would love one with me but we're not in a financial position and I'm 38 so unlikely this will change.

@toomuchtoolittle I am 19 weeks with a little girl, I have four boys and then one girl already, the youngest being the girl. I am nervous, my last 2 were prem babies .
