Has any one bought baby clothes from primark? We’re they any good? I’d rather pay more & but better quality but just wondering

Thank you

Not the best but it's good enough. Plus baby will outgrow out of everything in only a few weeks so it doesn't make sense to buy everything from an expensive shop. I bought his vests and socks from primark. Same material and quality as any other shop. His more dressy stuff I bought at boutiques. But most of his clothes I bought in H&M, next, Zara, etc.

Bigonesmallone3 · 11/02/2019 23:09

Primark items are absolutely fine for the price. Some things are worth investing a little more in but at the end of the day they aren't in anything for long

NicksWife08 · 11/02/2019 23:10

They are ok but cut extremely small so if you're likely to have a long or heavy baby I wouldn't bother.
My own DS fitted in 9-12 month sleep suits from Primark at just 5 months old. I went recently and looked at PJ's for him and 9-10 years were too tight/narrow. He wears 7-8 everywhere else.
Friends who have smaller children love the place though.

rosydreams · 11/02/2019 23:11

they wernt great when i used them for my daughter but they did the job

Debaser12 · 11/02/2019 23:15

I get loads from there but as PP said they do come up small. They'll shirnk after a few washes but baby will prob have outgrown before that happens.

They do some really cute bits too.

LashesZ · 11/02/2019 23:24

I agree that they come up small but perfect when weaning as everything seems to get stained Angry

riotlady · 11/02/2019 23:25

We’ve had a few bits from there and they were absolutely fine. Found Asda was often cheaper/the same price though

GummyGoddess · 11/02/2019 23:36

DC2 is wearing Primark clothes that at least 2 other children have worn before him and they're absolutely fine. No holes or even bobbling.

Triskaidekaphilia · 12/02/2019 00:00

I have no idea of the quality yet but I'm thinking of buying some newborn bits there as I've heard they don't really last, if they're even needed. I have this unexplained feeling our baby's going to be really big and in 0-3 straight away but if not I will send DH out for more stuff.

Ifonlybatshadhats · 12/02/2019 00:12

As pp have said, babies are in things for such a short space of time, primark is ok. What is even better though is buying from ebay, you can get much better quality second hand stuff at an even cheaper price. As the clothes aren't worn for long they're often like new... You can also feel better about reusing!

snoopy18 · 12/02/2019 08:51

Brought a couple of things from Primark haven’t used them yet as baby isn’t here yet but its more just the mitts etc.

Have a look at mothercare sales as I got the terry suits packs of 3 for around £6 which is better quality will wash better and similair prices to Primark.

Sainsbury’s Tu clothing material is also better than Primark and priced similarly.

So many cute things everywhere though isn’t there 😂

LeeMiller · 12/02/2019 08:57

Not sure about the clothes but Primark muslins are cheap and really soft.

LittleDoveLove · 12/02/2019 08:57

I've got loads from Matalan as similar price to Primark I think (can't face now bustly Primark is!) and 100% cotton. Asda also great x

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 12/02/2019 09:01

@Triskadelphilia my son was a giant when he was born and went straight into 3-6 month clothes, I still used Primark stuff because it's so cheap I could chuck away the poo stained vests and babygrows if they were too covered to bother scrubbing!

TheCag · 12/02/2019 09:02

I’ve found Primark clothes really short and wide which didn’t fit my babies at all.
Sainsbury’s and H&M are both great for babies and children’s clothes.

BertrandRussell · 12/02/2019 09:03

You need quantity not quality for little babies! EBay bundles, hand me downs, Primark- then save your money for a few gorgeous “show off” outfits for special occasions!

Mumbunsandhuns · 12/02/2019 09:07

I’ve found it ok but small. Prefer Asda for sizing, quality and value though Smile

Lauren83 · 12/02/2019 09:11

I have always bought a lot for DS and been happy with them, all washed well with no shrinkage

blondeirishmummy84 · 12/02/2019 09:36

I have a few Primark items for my son and they have been really cute and great, they wash and fit no problem and obviously a great price. He's 11 months so going to childcare 4 days a week he has a new outfit on everyday between rolling around on the floor (no matter how clean) and BLW. He wears the little tracksuit bottoms and tops with a vest underneath. He is an awkward shape as it long and lean but everything seems to fit him fine.
I like Asda stuff too.

Shelbybear · 12/02/2019 10:52

I only bought some vests when she was a baby, they weren't the best quality were ok though. I kind Asda quite good similar prices too.

I've bought more in primark since she turned one and I usually buy it in the sales or some cheap stuff for holiday. I've got tops, playsuits, dresses etc for a whole £1. They regularly seem to have stuff in my local one in the sales. I've found the quality to be fairly standard with other high street stores.

You can try a couple of things see how they wash and wear and then decide.

lol my daughter was the same what i eventually did.Was turn the heating up a little and just place her in a nappy in her highchair.Just made sure her chair was over a easy to clean floor and let her go to town.

Dimsumlosesum · 12/02/2019 13:29

Yes. I used to get all the babygrows from there. After they get shat and vommed on so many times, doesn't matter because it's only primani.

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 12/02/2019 13:37

Primark are good because in the early days everything gets covered in sick, dribble, poo and other crap that you can throw them out and replace easily if needed

Gobletoffire · 12/02/2019 13:50

I have a few newborn babygrows from Primark but I agree with PPs that in comparison to newborn sizes from other shops the Primark ones do look very small... I also agree with a PP that Asda is around the same price, and the quality a bit better in my opinion.

outpinked · 12/02/2019 16:50

I refuse to buy clothes from primark anymore. It always ends up shrinking or losing shape in the wash and usually has holes after a couple of wears. It’s a false economy. I like Boots, M&S. H&M. Zara and Vertbaudet best.
