Induction at 37 weeks

Hi everyone
I've posted a few times about recurrent reduced movements. All CTGs/scans have been very reassuring but the movements have still been on and off.
A few weeks ago I had steroids just incase.
Now the consultant has advised that I am induced at the end of this week (just over 37 weeks).

Anyone else been in a similar position? Any advice about the induction, especially one at 37 weeks. (This is my first baby btw)

Thank you Smile

No advice but Good Luck! I am being induced tomorrow at 37 weeks exactly due to reduced movements - am so ready to meet this baby now.

A friend of mine was induced at 37 weeks due to choleostasis. She ended up having an emergency C-section but that's because baby was big and got stuck.
But baby and her were both fine in the end.

I had to be induced because baby was late.
You can still have a nice birth even with induction. Make sure you bring your music, insist on moving around in early labour, and ask to use a bouncy ball or the shower, as well as pain relief.
If they have you on the drip the contractions come really fast, there's no build up, so it might be wise to get an epidural.
But they usually try to get things started with either a balloon catheter or prostoglandin gels, and wait a day or two to see if your body will respond and go into labour with a little help rather then the big guns of a drip.
