Hi ladies!

I'm currently 7 weeks 3 days pregnant with my first baby.

Over the weekend the feeling of being nauseous has hit me all of a sudden and I feel awful.

Any tips? Xx

Hello ☺️
Congratulations! I am 7 weeks 5 days :-)

My nausea started pretty much the week I found out I was pregnant and I still get it! Things that have helped me is ginger nut biscuits, hot water bottle (but not too hot) chewing gum and just eating little and often. Also getting plenty of rest and sleep.
Fingers crossed yours should pass soon!

Congratulations! What an exciting time.

See how you get on, mine eventually developed into hypermesis and I found a lot of help on the Hypermesis Support threads here. There's a difference between some nausea and persistent nausea and vomiting. The former might be eased with drinking more water/being less tired/ginger etc. But the latter won't be and it's better to speak to your GP early and try out the meds if you end up thinking that's where yours is headed. It's my first baby too and I was very reluctant about the tablets, but they do work and the whole thing can get needlessly debilitating without them and can then impact your mental state which is what happened to me.

But, let's rewind a bit for now... try fresh chopped ginger steeped in hot water, fresh air, rest and peppermint sweets if you can bear them. Also eating little and often, or at least drinks like tomato juice or milk (not together!!!) to keep your tummy a bit full and keep the nausea at bay. Sugary things to help, but you then end up with the crash eventually.

Hope your nausea and sickness pass quickly. I'm at 19 weeks now and it's still there unfortunately, but less so. Usually goes by 12 weeks and I promise it is better on the other side! One thing I kept telling myself was that it all means the pregnancy is working as it should. 💜
