Is it good? Worth it?

I’m not sure OP although I was about to post a similar thread! So following with interest, I noticed it on Amazon this morning for £5 so have ordered one as it was supposed to be £27 so thought it was a bargain! Shared the link below if you or anyone else is interested Smile

I had one. Hated it. Stopped using it after a few werks. It just stinks, regardless of what they say. Might be handy if yiu kivrbin a fjetbir a back to back, but I just positioned the outdoor bin under the bathroom window and threw nappies out of the window, straight into the bin.

OMGithurts · 09/02/2019 12:35

I lived in a flat when I had DD and I bought a cheap lidded bucket, I think it was a composting bucket, kept the smell in brilliantly and no need to buy expensive refill cartridges.

E20mom · 09/02/2019 12:40

I absolutely rate mine. Baby's 18 months old and we still use it. No smells at all.

nonamesareavailable · 09/02/2019 12:43

Yes 100% worth it. Cartridges are expensive and you go through a lot with a newborn but it soon slows down as baby starts to go through less nappies.

cindersrella · 09/02/2019 12:45

I never had one I used to take nappies straight out to the bin if it was a poo, inside bin if wet with a nappy sac. I never really understood the difference in them to your own house or outside bin apart from another expense?

ImNotKitten · 09/02/2019 12:46

Don’t believe the RRP. I got one for free the other week by spending £10 on certain items. Does seem to keep smells in.

AngelaStorm73 · 09/02/2019 12:48

I don't see what the problem is with nappy bags and taking the bin out regularly (sturdy one with a lid). Maybe I'm missing something though ?

raspberryjo · 09/02/2019 12:52

No. 2 kids later, first one didn't get used. 5 years later thought maybe it would after persuasion from dp. It didn't. So I sold it and now with my 1yo we just use nappy bags and put in bin. Doesn't stink at all

seven201 · 09/02/2019 12:54

My dd is 2.5 years and I still love it!

ThanksItHasPockets · 09/02/2019 15:08

Not IMHO. Price up several years’ worth of cartridges; rather like razors and printers the money is made on the refills!

They generate a phenomenal amount of plastic waste, too.

Darkstar4855 · 09/02/2019 15:31

I like mine, bulk buy the refills on amazon to save money. It’s great for night changes as I don’t have to take nappies downstairs to put in the bin.

Jackshouse · 09/02/2019 17:06

If you live in a house then don’t bother. Just pop them straight in the outside bin durring the day and on a night time double bag and chuck in the landing and then put in the bin on the morning.

Mummyh2016 · 09/02/2019 17:44

Yep, couldn't live without mine, DD is 20 months now and we still use it. Empty it twice a week and it keeps the smells in.

Heyha · 09/02/2019 20:13

Thanks for the link @islathepaella I wasn't going to get one but for £5 it'll be worth a try for night changes then if no good it'll no doubt be repurposed!

Islathepaella · 10/02/2019 22:45

@Heyha that’s exactly what I was thinking :) seems to be quite mixed reviews on Amazon too!

SidSparrow · 10/02/2019 22:52

I had one but not worth it IMO, bin is cheap enough, refils are not in comparison to a cheap bin with a lid and the cost of a box of nappy bags.

Littlereen · 10/02/2019 22:53

Still using ours 18 months on, love it. Bought 3 tommee tippee cartridges and then refill these myself using ‘LILNAP’ refills from amazon - one £20 roll has lasted us about a year. Never had issues with smells.

Dermymc · 10/02/2019 22:56

Honestly can't believe this is a product.

Bloody hell.

What a waste of plastic, money and effort.

Just put them straight outside. Or even better, cloth bum.

Someone bought me one with a few cartridges. Once they ran out I just use to bag the nappies and use it as a normal bin.

emma911030 · 10/02/2019 23:12

I have got one.. baby due any day so not actually used it yet. A good friend of mine had one and she really found it a good purchase the one I got cane with 6 refill ring things x

Heyha · 11/02/2019 09:07

I suspect I'll end up not using the cartridges as we have a seemingly never-ending supply of scented dog poo bags Blush but a decent pedal bin is more than £5 so 🤷

E20mom · 11/02/2019 12:50

To the ppl saying just put the nappies out. That's not possible if like me you live in a central London apartment. I'm not going to call the lift every time I need to put a nappy out. It's a great product in these circumstances.

AmateurParents · 11/02/2019 16:25

Yes and No. Yes they are massively convenient during the night etc to just throw the nappies into.

No because we found ours stunk if we didn't put the nappy in a sack or two first and then put it into the bin. Our LB was a very smelly pooper!! Ended up just putting them straight outside during the day.
