Should I ring clinic? Re: movement.

I'm 25+2. For the last few weeks, baby is really active at night when I go to bed to lie down (around 8ish) and often feel movement when tossing and turning. I'm busy in the day as I have a toddler to chase after to don't notice much movement.

Anyway, I didn't feel much movement two nights ago but had an almighty wallop in the middle of the night! Felt okay. However, last night, I noticed baby wasn't moving much either. Felt a small amount of movement first thing this morning.

I'm aware baby could have changed position, and from what I gather, patterns are only considered from 27 weeks. Not sure if I'm being silly as baby has moved, but for the last two days, is nowhere near is active as it has been in recent weeks. It's my second baby so have felt kicks earlier (from about 19 weeks). My brain is going into overdrive at the moment, not sure what to do.

Would it be worth ringing the antenatal clinic or am I just being daft/over cautious?

Its worrying you, you should ring.

DancerOnIce · 09/02/2019 08:32

Always ring. They won’t mind you calling and speaking to them, even if they tell you it’s normal and not to worry. Call now and put your mind at rest

Gruzinkerbell1 · 09/02/2019 08:32

I'm sure everything is fine but ring the clinic right now. They would far rather that you did Flowers

Always phone and always get checked with reduced movements. I had a midwife tell me once they’d rather see you a hundred times with reduced movements to check everything is ok than people putting it off because they don’t want to make a fuss.

trevthecat · 09/02/2019 08:42

Ring. Always ring. Please get checked

littlemissalwaystired · 09/02/2019 08:43

Midwife here - definitely ring. A lot better for everyone involved if you pop in, even 100 times, to get checked over and everything's okaySmile

Always ring but I wouldn’t expect monitoring at 25 weeks gestation. Depending on the trust policy they might bring you in and listen to babies heartbeat with a Doppler.

I’m currently 26 weeks pregnant, baby had a few quiet days around 25 weeks and I mentioned it at my midwife appointment. She told me our Hospital won’t monitor if you’re under 28 weeks.

rainbowstardrops · 09/02/2019 09:43

I'd ring. They might just reassure you over the phone but you'll never know if you don't ring.

CaseofEllen · 09/02/2019 09:58

Ring. I was monitored for reduced movements at 24 weeks. Too early for the straps and machine but listened to heartbeat and had a scan!

Spidz · 09/02/2019 09:59

Always ring. The worrying is bad for you.

Fiddie · 09/02/2019 10:32

Yes phone now x

Sorry for delay. Been trying to get through to the hospital (was also working so took a while). Currently in waiting room, waiting to be assessed.

Baby is fine! Midwife was lovely, found heartbeat pretty much straight away. She said it was a lovely strong heartbeat ❤️ . So relieved.

Oh and naturally on the way home, baby decided to say hi after leaving me worry all night Hmm think I have another troublemaker on my hands, like it's older brother Envy
