Visitors from abroad with a newborn

Hello,

I was just reading the thread about someone limiting visitors for the first few days/couple of weeks after their baby is born. Someone commented that it was actually sensible so the baby wasn't exposed to too many germs.

This made me think as my DH has two family members from Malaysia visiting around the time the baby is due so they are likely to meet the baby. It didn't even occur to me that that wouldn't be a good idea but is it not? I know they could be carrying different germs to the ones I would have been exposed to during pregnancy. I'm not sure if I'm just over thinking it now! Pregnancy hormones can make me massively over think things!

It's fine right?

(and no its' not a PFB Smile )

I haven't got any helpful advice but I am in similar situation and hoping for you to get some so I can read it too!

I think it’s entirely up to you. My DD is 8 weeks old and I couldn’t wait to show her off (she is PFB)
My view was that she was going to be exposed to germs and such at some point. As long as no one was coughing or sputtering on her it was fine 😁

but surely if these family members are flying from Malaysia about the time of your babies arrival they will have to be well enough to board the flight & travel with other passengers. So, they wont be so unwell to meet/stay with you & your baby. Observe common sense obviously around any visitors with colds/flu bugs etc, but not just because they have arrived from another country,
