Hello,
Im sorry to hear about this. I have the same, I’ve had GD on both pregnancies of mine.
With me, they sent me to a class to understand the condition better and what the possibilities are with baby and I. They give you a blood sugar device and will ask you to note down you sugar levels at the time they ask, usually 2 hours after meals.
After the one week, depending on what the numbers they may ask you to inject insulin or take medication, you can also opt for change of diet and see how that trial works. You’ll have regular appts. You most probably will be induced towards week 38/39 of the pregnancy.
As long as you control and monitor your food, you honestly have nothing to worry about.

@Sallsarr399 I'm just confused by it all because I had a growth scan like 2 weeks ago and he was bang on with measurements and weight. And I'm also only measuring a few days over when my midwife measures me at appointments.
Tbh my diet has been shocking since being pregnant so I'm hoping a change of diet will sort things out as I really don't want to have a big baby 😓😓

You won't necessarily have a big baby. If left untreated the baby could be big. But you will need to amend your diet (low carb and sugar) and if you need it they may put you on tablets or insulin. They also induce you if you haven't had the baby by 40+6 (the NICE guidelines but depends on each NHS trust). I had to test my blood sugars before and after each meal. I managed to keep diet controlled and my baby was 7lb.

@TC07 that's great 😊 it's good to hear some positive stories as I'm abit in the dark about it 🤷‍♀️

Baby will not necessarily be big depending on what you eat. But remember your sugar will be monitored and so will baby, you will be taken care of. My diet was really messed up, but with a few tweaks it’s okay now. Change a few things over, just eat healthily and in moderation. The food I use to eat was really bad, I really didn’t eat healthy and sometimes I struggle.
I crave a lot of KFC and the hardest thing is to avoid it, it makes your sugar rise so high 🤦🏽‍♀️
Minimise carbs, eat more salad and veg. Have protein
