SPD or PGP the second time around?

I've only just found out I'm pregnant, and currently around 4.2 weeks.

My first pregnancy was rough from about 14 weeks with SPD. I was signed off work for four weeks and had pretty intensive physiotherapy treatments to help me stay on my feet.

My back has never really been the same, even if the hormones disappeared when I gave birth.

If you had SPD/PGP the first time around, did it come back the second time around? I'm only asking because yesterday I walked for my whole lunch hour and by the time I headed back to my desk I had the familiar wobbly hips. But surely not this soon?

Hate To say it, but with number 2 my spd started at 9 weeks and I ended up on crutches from about 30 weeks. I had acupuncture which helped. Physio wouldn't do anything (although with number 1 in a different area they did manipulations every 2 weeks).
Start now with doing your exercises and make sure your moving properly.

I got it towards the end on 1st pregnancy. Then it started earlier on 2nd pregnancy but I went straight to physio and did all the exercises etc and I was much more mobile 2nd time around

Thanks @KipperTheFrog and @Fr3d , that's basically what I'd been expecting.
My physio last time didn't do exercises, he treated me with heat laser therapy which was incredible.
Have downloaded a load of exercises from Pinterest to keep me going and trying to keep active and eat as healthily as possible to prevent any excess weight gain,

I know someone who had it quite badly with their first and then with their second, ended up in a wheelchair for the final 6 weeks whilst trying to look after a toddler.
I think it's common to get worse each time. I'm pregnant with my first and in agony so will be seeking physio ASAP if I ever have another one.
It's horrible! Sad

I had spd/pgp with my first (dd is now 3 1/2) I'm currently 13 weeks gone with my second. When I had my booking in appointment I asked the midwife if I was going to get it again and I was worried because I had some twinges already. She said it was likely to come back, but the early twinges are probably just from the rush of hormones in the early stages and will go again. Sure enough they have, for now. So don't panic just yet, you will probably be OK for the next couple of months at least. But now is the time to start remembering the excersise the physio taught you first time and try not to do anything you know will make it worse, like carrying a toddler on your hip. At the first sign of it getting really bad go straight to your GP and demand a fast track physio referral. Hopefully with quick management it won't get so bad this time. That's my plan anyway. Good luck!

I had it bad with my first but with second I didn't have it only a few twinges but baby was high up and breech and when she went head down the spd came on strong but then she kept going breech.
At age 4 she's still can't keep still or decide what she wants to do! But I was grateful for her being breech as it saved my pelvis.

Sorry, just seen that your physio didn't give you excersise. That sucks, the excersises definitely help a lot! Definitely look some up, but be careful that you get them from a reputable source and do them properly. You may find in the beginning that you can only do a couple of each, don't worry. It will soon get better if you keep doing little and often, but don't over do it to the point it hurts.
