Early Morning Sickness

Hi.

I am currently 4 weeks & 4 days pregnant and I am experiencing the most horrific ‘morning’ sickness, I vomited over 40 times yesterday and was prescribed semetil to calm it down, which seems to have stopped the vomiting- although I still feel nauseous.
Is it normal to have morning sickness this early?
I felt nauseous the last couple of weeks or so and that’s when I decided, this is my 1st pregnancy (we did experience a positive test and then a miscarriage the following day in September) and I am slightly worried.
I also have stage four endometriosis and am deemed as a ‘high risk’ pregnancy.
Does this early sickness indicate issues?

I started being very sick at 6.5 weeks with my first pregnancy (successful) and was sick until 34 weeks, and this morning at 5+4 was the first time I have been sick on this one (had some nausea around when i found out). It's not a sign anything is wrong. I had a missed miscarriage/blighted ovum last year and was rarely sick but had low level nausea from about 6 weeks too on it and there has only been a gestational sack. Everyone is different! Smile

Hi I started with morning sickness bang on 4 weeks unfortunately mine lasted until I was into my 20 weeks! I don’t think it was as bad as yours though. If your struggling go back to your doctors. It’s horrible, I feel for you towards the end, by week 18 I started feeling really low & emoutional with it all it’s not nice at all x Flowers

Congratulations OP, and sorry about your previous loss. Apparently the nausea and sickness is actually a good sign that hormones are increasing and baby is growing, so it’s nothing to worry about even though it’s so completely horrible. I’ve had awful nausea from 7-16 weeks and counting, but no vomiting so you’re obviously far worse than me. Just eat whatever you can manage and try to stay hydrated and hopefully it will pass in a few weeks x

Hi op, do join the Hyperemesis thread if you’re struggling, it’s a great support. FWIW I started nausea with dd over a week before af was due, it starts early for some! Getting effective medication early can really make a difference so do go back to your gp if you need more, but tbh even with a combo of 3 drugs I’ve still found myself feeling very very sick a lot.

I started at 4w+6 and felt so awful I immediately got some anti-sickness pills from the pharmacy which mean that I haven't been sick at all, just really bad nausea. AFAIK, starting early doesn't indictate issues at all.

FWIW, I started feeling so much better from 7w and am now entering 8w feeling nearly back to normal. What I want to say is that you may continue feeling bad but you may also have better weeks. I really hope that's the case for you too Flowers
