Hard to urinate

Feel like I'm on here everyday with a different worry at the moment Blush

Over the weekend I posted about some bad back pain and lower abdominal pain. I went to the GP yesterday who tested my urine and said I didn't have a UTI but they are sending a sample to the lab to be sure.

Since then, I've noticed that I'm finding it quite hard to wee, its hard to start weeing and when I do it comes out in little bursts and I never feel like I've totally emptied my bladder. I did a quick google and found that some people have this issue in the first trimester but it goes away when their uterus moves up and off the bladder (it was to do with the growing uterus compressing the bladder/urethra and cutting off the urine), but I'm now 20 weeks.
I know I don't have a UTI, is it silly to go back to the GP? Has anyone else had this?

Hi OP

I had something similar when I was in the second trimester and now in the third trimester I’m always needing the loo.

I went to my GP as I thought it was a UTI too, mine came back negative when I was there and the test results from the lab indicated negative too. She suggested I lean slightly forward after weeing to ensure I have emptied my bladder fully. I’ve upped my water intake and I don’t struggle to actually wee anymore. My GP also mentioned around the growing uterus which is main the problem along with my LO potentially laying on my bladder. Which sounds about right to be honest anything what’s not comfortable for me, is really comfortable for my LO in there!

If it’s painful or bothering you still I wouldnt worry about contacting your GP again. You may have developed a UTI in the time since visiting the GP or it could be nothing. It’s hard to say. Could you not maybe speak to your midwife in the first instance to see what she recommends? Hope you feel better soon
