Hi ladies, I'm really struggling to find some reasonably priced maternity knickers! Can anybody point me in the direction of some decent ones?

Also, any recommendations on what's more comfortable - over the bump ones, or under bump?

Thank you :)

I've just been wearing the ones I always wore? Slightly tight, but I am approaching 36 weeks.

I just wore normal big pants

I've been wearing primark hipsters in a size up from my usual. They have a lace band at the top which is really nice and stretchy, and apart from the lace band they are cotton, so not sweaty Smile

I just bought M&S knickers a couple of sizes bigger. I def prefer over the bump, as just feels more comfy.

I just wore normal knickers in bigger sizes. And i preferred under the bump.

For after the birth I went to Tesco and bought some big pants about 4 sizes up in case I had a section and wanted to cover the scar. Only a couple of quid more than paper pants and infinitely more comfy!

Don't waste your money! Just get some normal knickers in a size or two up. I bought maternity knickers with my first (under bump) - held them up against a pair of non-maternity shorts style ones I already had and honestly there was absolutely no difference (Apart from the price).

I’m going to buck the trend and say get some proper mat pants, especially if you are/ think you might end up with a section ( over the bump ones) H&M are what I have been using. Dead comfy, however I was fussy about knickers pre baby and would only wear hi cut cotton knickers.

Normally a size 8... I wore Primark high waist massive knickers in a size 14-16. Perfect over the bump and after my c section.

AliceRR · 05/02/2019 15:06

I’m normally a size 8 and I’m now 39 weeks pregnant. I usually wear M&S hipster type knickers and have been wearing the same underwear to date and haven’t really had an issue. I haven’t really put on wrk today anywhere other than I have a massive bump. I did go to mothercare the other day and pick up some of their under bump knickers in the same - £10 to £6 for five pairs- and they’re very good quality. Better than. The. M&S ones but for me a v similar fit to my normal knickers...

I like the Sainsbury’s ones with the lace front. Everything else digs in! Enormous grabby pants ready for after the birth though.

I'm still in my same pre-pregnancy knickers. I'm all bump, though, and my pre-pregnancy knickers were comfy and accommodating giant M&S granny pants (it's a wonder DP went near me...)

Thank you ladies! I forgot I had posted this and just logged on to your suggestions.

I think I'll get some hipster style knickers. My problem is I wear a high waisted short so they just keep rolling down which is really uncomfortable. I think some lower rise ones in a bigger size will be perfect.

Thank you :)

I just stuck with my normal nickers until I had the baby, but due to the c section I couldn't stand anything on the scar, so a bought a couple of packs of tesco own brand maxi breifs in a big size so they came up to my belly button. Not at all sexy but dirt cheap, cotton, comfy and breathable. Plus if they got too stained with postpartum bleeding I didn't worry about bleeching or putting them in the bin!

I am wearing some giant sloggis a couple of sizes us which go over bump and they are great.
