25 weeks, Braxton-Hicks and "jelly" discharge

I'm 25+4 weeks. For the last three weeks, I've been getting quite frequent Braxton-Hicks, maybe ten times every day, as well as a slimy, jelly-like discharge most days. (Not much, just when I'm wiping.) I was monitored for reduced fetal movement a few weeks ago and I mentioned it then, but they didn't seem concerned at all and said the egg-white discharge "sounded like thrush" (really?!) but the test came back negative.

Should I contact the MW, or does this all sound normal to you?

The Braxton Hicks sound totally normal. With the discharge it's harder to say. If definitely talk to my midwife about it though. It's probably normal, insofar as anything is normal in pregnancy, but it could be another infection that needs treating. How long until you see your midwife again?

I'm setting mw in 3 weeks. I'm a little bit annoyed they dismissed it as "probably thrush" last time. Most women know what thrush looks like and it doesn't look like jelly.

It doesn't smell or sting and is like clear egg white. I'm concerned that I'm losing bits of mucous plug.

contact triage at the maternity unit, I don't recall having Brixton jocks so early.

Lol jocks😂 try again... Brixton hicks

cindersrella · 06/02/2019 07:42

Omg! Braxton hicks

I had noticeable braxton hicks starting about 18/19 weeks. Sometimes up to 10-15 a day. I was told to take paras and have a warm bath and they would tend to calm down.

You can lose bits of mucus plug at any stage of pregnancy and it can re-grow.

Get checked if you are concerned but even if it is the plug, I wouldn't be too concerned.
Some women lose bits of it throughout the pregnancy and it grows back.

Thanks everyone - I feel reassured!
