Pregnancy after 3rd degree tear and SGA baby

Hi I had my first baby in 2011, suffered a lot with the pregnancy sickness and then afterwards the 3rd degree so decided I didn't want anymore until I 'got over it'

Well this time round we'd had a couple a early losses so I'm grateful for what seems like a sticking bean this time, I'm 14 weeks.

Just wanted to know if anyone managed a vaginal birth after a previous c section. I haven't seen the obstetrician yet but wanted some real life experiences. I don't want a c section if I can help it as it is major surgery and I feel my body will be shit at recovery again.

Also I previously had a low birth weight baby but this was not picked up prior to the birth. This time round they've picked it up at dating scan that it's SGA which makes me worry if it's picked up this early could that mean the baby has already showed signs of not growing properly and it might not make it (to term)?

Sorry to sound so paranoid. I'm a complicated case this time round as last time it was plain sailing up til the birth (apart from the pregnancy sickness but I won't mention that again)

Any advice would be appreciated x

I'm sorry I don't know what SGA is but I did have a 3rd degree extended with episiotomy with my first child. When I had dd2 9years later I was sent to the consultant who said I'd be fine and would have a very low risk of having a 3rd degree again, there was never an offer or suggestion of a C section and I didn't realise to ask or that it was an option.

Dd2 was a straightforward birth as was dd3 17months later. Both times I did have a second degree tear. Recovery from both was fine.

I'm expecting dc4 now and I expect I will have a second degree again. I have been left with some continence issues but they all stem from the first birth rather than subsequent. All my babies were around the 9lb mark, and I'm overweight all contributory factors in continence issues.

Wishing you all.the best

All three of my DC have been SGA, first two completely unnoticed and the Third only picked up at scan at 38 weeks despite regular growth scans. Currently pregnant with Dc4 at 28 weeks and baby measuring on the smaller side, between 50th and 25th centile, SGA not mentioned yet and was told at both 12 and 20week scans that it was too early to tell. All healthy despite size. Try not to worry if already diagnosed SGA then you will have regular growth scans and to check cord flow. Keep a close eye on movement and look after yourself.
