I keep waking up on my back! I don't have much of a bump yet - does it become more natural once you get bigger?

I bought the dreamgenii pregnancy pillow which has a cushion for back support and to try and stop you from sleeping on your back. It hasn't completely stopped me from occasionally ending up on my back but I do this a lot less now. I also read that as long as you're on your side the majority of the time that will be ok - just try to minimise back time, but a little bit won't cause harm

When you get bigger it will hurt to lie on your back. Well did for me. And made me really breathless so that helped alot.

You don’t have to until third trimester, at which point it will be uncomfortable to sleep on your back anyway probably!

I’ve never been a back sleeper - stomach sleeper here and have managed to find a sweet side / stomach spot with a body pillow but I can’t wait to sleep back on my stomach fully 😂 body pillow may help you stop rolling on to your back though if you wedge yourself in!

I regularly wake up on my back too despite going onto my side before I sleep, I just can't help it! I don't worry too much as long as you make the effort to go onto your side every time you wake up on your back, there's not much else you can do 😊

I am constantly stressing about this. I have bought the dream genie too to sup me rolling into my back but I somehow still manage it. I love sleeping on my right as well Sad

Sleeping on your right is fine and won’t cause any harm, it is just very very marginally better to sleep on your left. If you’re still comfortable sleeping on your back then it’s also very very unlikely that sleeping on your back will cause an issue. Once it gets to the point that it could be a problem, you won’t be comfortable sleeping on your back anyway.
