This is a question for those of us who have not yet had a sexing scan or who didn't want to know the sex of their baby.

I'm convinced that i'm carrying a boy, more out of want than anything else tho i think. I'm so convinced I'm having a boy that when i saw an advert for free boy's baby clothes from 0-6 months, I was literally just on the verge of hitting reply to say "oo yes please!" when i suddenly realised that i do not, in fact, know if i'm having a boy or girl!

It'll be interesting to see if mine and my DP's instincts about carrying a boy are correct when i have my 22 week scan at the end of July.

What about you? How strong were your instincts and were you actually right?!!!

DD1 was 99% certain she was a girl didn't even look at anything blue was "drawn" to pink clothes etc think I would have fallen off the table if sonographer had said boy.

DD2 about 80% certain another girl just felt the exact same as DD1

DB3 too early to tell am only 4 weeks. Will be having private scan to find out as well. Totally not bothered one way or the other I'll get what I'm given and be truly thankful just to impatient that's all.

Would like to ask mothers of both if it truly "feels" any different, how can a tuny willy or lack of make so much difference. I think the carrying out front and other old wives tales are a hold of bull IMO.

I was absolutely sure my first was a boy. I had to have a very late scan and I saw a willy and testicles - and pointed them out very excitedly to the radiographer. 10 days later Grace Frances was born! I wanted a girl so vry badly that I had convinced myself that she was a boy so that I wouldn't be disapointed when she was born!

Not certain at all. DH wouldn't let me go for a sexing scan- grrrr! Until about 25 weeks thought it was a boy but since then it changes daily.
Oh well- I'll fine out soon!
pps (37+4) xx

The third leg gave it away both times.

With Ds I knew he was a boy, said from early on that he was a boy, so wasn't shocked when he was a boy
With Dd1 I really wanted a girl, but didn;t want to be disappointed if she was a boy, so made myself think she was a boy iykwim.
Dd2 I had no idea
This pregnancy, I am about 80% sure its a boy, as I have gone off chicken (as I did with DS) and I just have a felling its a boy, will be very shocked if its a girl.

i was 100% certain i was having a boy and everyone said teh same. I sort of felt it inside as it were. Anyway about a week before baby was born i suddenly started doubting it and as it happens it was a girl

BadHair · 04/07/2007 00:11

Was absolutely convinced ds1 would be a girl - obviously he wasn't.
Didn't know with ds2, had no idea at all.
Third pregnancy was completely different to the other two as I was sicker, fatter, more tired etc. And 12 weeks ago I gave birth to ... ds3.
Good job really as I haven't had to spend a fortune on new clothes for him, and had he been a girl I would have been inundated with pink stuff from over-enthusiastic relatives.

I was convinced that I was having a girl. Several scans later, it's twin boys! So much for intuition...

I had DS in Denmark where they won't (or at least didn't then) reveal the sex of the baby. There is 1 scan only at 18 - 20 weeks just to check arms and legs really. Wasn't at all worried as I just knew I would have a boy. At 28 weeks I had a private scan in the UK and DH asked (I wasn't bothered either way) so we knew DS was going to be a boy.
