I took a Clear Blue pregnancy test earlier this morning. And a VERY faint second line appeared within 2-3 minutes. Over the last 4 hours, the line has faded a little and thinned out. I'm 12 DPO. AF is due in 2 days. So I don't know if it's too soon or just a line that shows up on this particular type of test. I plan to go to the doctor to get a blood test done soon. But has anyone else had this result and were you pregnant or not? Am I pregnant?

Try a first response test, usually gives a much clearer result. That's the one I used and got a faint line around 13-14 DPO.

The test shouldn't be looked after ten minutes I think, it will tell you in the pack instructions. Its only possible for the 2nd line to appear if you are pregnant because the test is looking for the HCG hormone which is only released in pregnancy. You can find out more about the test you used on their website

CB tests are not super sensitive and don’t detect hCG till it’s about 25mIU/ml whereas FRER are sensitive at 6.5mIU/ml so can detect earlier

Agree with poster above - get a First Response Early Results And you should get a clearer answer as they are the most sensitive you can buy.

I took another test not too long ago. A Family Wellness one(pink dye). And again. A faint second line showed up. So I'm either going to go to the doctor Monday or Tuesday for a blood test, or just wait another week to take another.

Both lines on both tests showed up within the time window. The second appeared pretty much as soon as urine touched it.

Are you in the uk? Drs won't do a routine blood test for pregnancy here

Bleep18 · 27/01/2019 02:16

I'm in the USA.

Ah ok. Over here they say pregnancy tests are so reliable now they don't do bloods to check for pregnancy any more.

Bleep18 · 27/01/2019 12:43

They're starting to only do blood tests if it's necessary over here. I took another test this morning. Another positive. I've read that false positives are rare. So three positives in a row can't be false... I don't know.

Congratulations OP! Why do you doubt the result? If you've had three positive tests, you're pregnant!

Bleep18 · 27/01/2019 14:14

I guess I'm still just trying to process itBlush

You're definitely pregnant, congratulations Thanks

Glitterandunicorns · 27/01/2019 16:23

@Bleep18, I know what you mean. Even after I gave birth to my son, I still couldn't believe he was my very own baby!

Bleep18 · 28/01/2019 15:46

They're faint but still there.

Glitterandunicorns · 28/01/2019 15:50

There's nothing faint about any of those lines! Congratulations!

Newyearsameoldshit · 28/01/2019 17:49

This are good lines! You're pregnant!
