Hi this is my first pregnancy and I’m only a couple of weeks in, I’m feeling horribly sick though and dizzy, from what I’ve read online most people don’t feel like this until avout 6 weeks! I’m worried about how I’m feeling as it’s terrible! Has any one else experienced this? My sister had Hyperemesis Gravidarum and I’m worried the fact I’m feeling so sick so early on means I might get that. I’m so thrilled to be pregnant I just don’t know what’s ‘normal’ if anyone can please give some advice I would really appreciate it! Thank you! :)

Does sound like it could develop into HG. And yes it's truly awful.
Get an action plan together to stay hydrated and eat as much as you can.
Visit your GP and ask for what they can prescribe, as there is evidence if you treat early it doesn't get as bad.

Buy ketones testing sticks for urine from the chemist, and if you are really dehydrated go to hospital as you need a drip.

There is a wonderful lady on Mumsnet who runs an HG support thread, find that and read up on the drugs available.

And start ignoring people now who say 'oh you just need ginger, oh I felt a bit sick' HG is something else entirely. Good luck X

Ps I had it from week 6 to week 16, and ended up lighter after the birth than when I became pregnant. Hence my encouragement to eat as much as you can now.

Hi @Staywarm30. Sorry to hear you're feeling rough. I'm in the same boat; I'm 4+3 and feeling pretty queasy.

I don't know what's normal, or whether this is particularly unusual, but just wanted to say hope you feel better soon!
