no, not like it used to be!

No! I've never had a full bladder at any scans after the 12 week one. The baby has well risen up out of the pelvis by 22 weeks.

I did, but they were running an hour late, and i couldn't wait as i was in so much pain. The lady who does the scan said i didn't matter.

When I had my 20 week scan I had to have a full bladder!! when I got in they said it was not full enough and sent me off to drink more......
I think it depends on the hospital, it should say on your appt letter!

BetsyBoop · 02/07/2007 12:46

I had to go back for another scan because I didn't have a full bladder & they couldn't see how low my placenta was.

Luckily when I went back it was just far enough away that they weren't concerned, so I don't have to have it checked again.

I don't think a full bladder is needed for anything else though

Chirpygirl · 02/07/2007 13:09

I had a full bladder but my appointment was 45 minutes late, I was desparate for a pee but held it, and was then told it was too full and to go to the loo and STOP HALFWAY!!!!

It was the hardest thing I had ever done!

So when they say full it is just full enough to push the baby out from behind the pelvis not to bursting!

They say yes, but I seem to remember I threw up after downing my litre of water and it didn't matter in the end.
