15-16 weeks. Helps to find out which foods trigger it. One pregnancy it was garlic for me.

8DaysAWeek · 25/01/2019 15:59

About 16 weeks. Anecdotally I don't see much truth in the "it'll get better by the end of the first trimester" bollocks. Always seems to be at least a few weeks later.

Springmummy19 · 25/01/2019 15:59

I'm 27+5 and so far it hasn't... I have weeks where its abut once or twice a week and then other weeks like this week where it is up to 6 times a day.

pookiedoll · 25/01/2019 16:09

@lljkk i wish i knew. Honestly I'm not even much b/c pretty much everything turns my stomach...

@8DaysAWeek this is when my friends went away. Its not as severe as it was but its enough to make me feel miserable

@Springmummy19 omg you poor mommy!!! that sounds just awful!!! how do you get through days? I can't even imagine going on like that for so long :(

@pookiedoll with great difficulty lol. the doctor gave me anti sickness tablets but they made me so drowsy I had to stop taking them. The feeling of needing to be sick is almost always there, some times I occupy my mind with things and forget other days I just heave and I have to go and be sick. Sometimes you don't want to eat due to the fear of being sick but that juts made my stomach hurt so much more as I would heave but nothing would come out TMI but I've had a few occasions where its been so severe I've literally wet myself due to the pressure so I massively stacked up on panty liners.

Even now hubby always says 'how come your still being sick, surely it should stop by now' I no longer have the energy to entertain the conversation.

Ginger biscuits helped and I used to keep hard boiled sweets as well. Its different for every women, some get it just at the start, some get it throughout others don't get it at all. if it gets really bad might be worth speaking to your GP about anti sickness tablets

GabbyGal · 25/01/2019 16:25

For me it eased massively around 12+4. Still a bit nauseous in the mornings but nothing like the constant relentless nausea I had from weeks 7-12. Fingers crossed it gets better for you soon x

pookiedoll · 25/01/2019 16:31

@Springmummy19 i actually tried Diclegis and wow it made me feel so much worse so I just decided to deal with it.... I complain to my husband multiple times a day. He just says sorry ahha - I mean there is nothing else he can really say.... He must be so sick of hearing it... I dry heave as well. I threw up a handful of times but it wasn't a daily thing. Today I feel out of breath too. Oh i pray this passes for us!!!

@pookiedoll I hope it does but I think for myself it's pretty much here to stay. Do any foods trigger it for you? lol hubby just now says 'ok I'll add it to the list of things that hurt' haha

Buffy81 · 25/01/2019 16:44

For me, I found it was around the 16wk mark. I found the feeling of wanting to be sick worse as I never ended up being sick. I found eating something like shortbread helped to ease it, also found that good for heartburn.

pookiedoll · 25/01/2019 16:45

@Springmummy19 i don't think anything in particular bothers me. I really am not eating much. I don't have much of a desire to eat b/c I'm so repulsed by food and feel nauseous. But what I eat is mostly bland stuff and carbs. I usually wake up feeling so so and then as day goes on the sickness escalates. Its the worst at night and especially when I lay down.

Hi OP

I feel for you it’s awful isn’t it?! Im 29 weeks tomorrow and unfortunately my MS hasn’t disappeared either. I’m on sickness tablets but I’m still sick at least twice a week (atleast 3 times per day without meds at all) I’ve just got used to it now, I found taking each day as it comes easier to handle. I have good and bad days but lucky I work in such a surportive company.

If it gets too much do speak to your GP there are different types of meds available it may just take a few different ones or combinations to help you. Boiled sweets, mints, peppermint tea, ice lollies & eating what I fancied really helps with my nausea.

Hope you feel better soon!

Elizabeth2019 · 25/01/2019 16:55

@pookiedoll I feel your pain! Mine went at 18 weeks and I swear the MW kept saying it will get better.... after week 16 she stopped! The only positive I can offer is that it will eventually stop (even if it’s labour that ends it)! I found that lemon and lime sparkling water really helped as I also couldn’t keep much down. And was reticent to take any medications (that being said my SIL is taking some now and is feeling a lot better) even with the threats of hospitalisation - husband told me I was being dramatic 😂

P.S. I was fairly impressed post baby to be lighter than pre-pregnancy (did loose too much weight in early pregnancy - 2 stone!) but still have a proper loose tummy now

OutPinked · 25/01/2019 17:06

16 weeks with DC1 but with DC4 it lasted until 18 weeks and kept coming and going intermittently throughout the whole pregnancy. The main trigger in the second and third trimesters was hunger though.

pookiedoll · 25/01/2019 17:06

@Elizabeth2019 i haven't been able to get anything done, cook clean, errands, nothing!!! so its affecting me emotionally and physically... I have no idea how moms that have other little ones to take care of cope like this. This is my first. I thought if it was less severe it would be easier to deal with but unf. its not. I tried lemons and it was terrible for me. I believe I lost weight as well but my belly is starting to pop a little.

When I gave birth

RebeccaCloud9 · 25/01/2019 17:09

(Although was much less bad from c 20 weeks).

Happyandshiney · 25/01/2019 17:09

Sadly it didn’t I was vomiting 6-10 times a day until my babies were born. In fact I threw up during my c-section. Grin

My experience isn’t normal though. Most people feel better about 16 weeks.

Dry crackers help and polo mints.

@pookiedoll I really do feel for you! I couldn’t manage anything except feeling sorry for myself, sick so many times. I did enjoy the end of the pregnancy (until pre-eclampsia anyway) so fingers crossed for you! I did find research positive as it implies that you’re sick as the baby’s hormones are so strong - which I translated into baby is doing fine 😀 and my little girl was born perfectly healthy. Give yourself a break and ignore the laundry, try ice, sorbet and I ate loads of melon and olives to get liquid in. If it’s really affecting you then push it with your GP! I could cope as it was my 1st and I have a really great support network who walked my dog and cleaned my house.

pookiedoll · 25/01/2019 19:14

@Elizabeth2019 ooo i need someone to come cook and clean for me too hahahah!!! and olives oddly sounds good right now. I'll have to try that...

15 weeks but with the odd dry heave here and there still at 19 weeks.

thenightsky · 25/01/2019 19:16

I had all day sickness. It stopped really suddenly at 14 weeks. God, the relief was indescribable.

BirthdayKake · 25/01/2019 19:20

Terrible sickness here until around 13 weeks when it got a bit better. I could function at least. I'm nearly 16 weeks now and praying it goes soon. I want to nest!!

Spargle · 25/01/2019 19:22

I got mostly better at 12-13 weeks. From 13 weeks, I mostly felt kind of ok. Some days (once a week?) I don’t even need my anti-nausea bands (I’m 19+2 now).

But yeah. It’s mostly plateaued since about 13 weeks, leaving me feeling mostly fine a lot of the time. Had to not go to yoga this evening, though, because I felt a bit gaggy and nauseated. Fun!

One thing that I have noticed, though, is that as the nausea has reduced, the anti-nausea bands have become more effective. They probably remove the same amount of nausea as they always have, but I have so little in comparison to before that they now almost make me feel well again!

tinyradish · 25/01/2019 20:49

About 18 weeks here - although it was a tiny bit better at 14, then a bit better again at 16 weeks. Felt almost normal again at 18! With the odd slightly nauseas evening.

I honestly thought it would never end but it did & hopefully it will for you too, very soon. Fingers crossed for you :)

AussieMum28 · 25/01/2019 21:20

18 weeks. It was hell on earth and convinced me that I won't have more than 2 kids (I wanted about 4 before falling pregnant)
