Taking propranolol to aid sleep

Does anyone have any experience taking short courses of propranolol at 40-80mg per dose? Both my doctor and midwife haven't been able to provide a definitive answer on whether this will adversely affect my pregnancy.
I'm nearly 24 weeks and I have been getting severe "anxiety attacks" during the night, preventing me from sleeping.
I've used propranolol in the past and it usually solves the problem within a few days. But I rely on a fairly large dosage at 80 mg.
I am worried it's preventing adequate blood flow getting to the baby.

Hey,
I have been under the care of a consultant as I take propranolol daily for anxiety. I was told by my consultant that the reason I am being looked after her was because if the propranolol, there is a small risk of the baby coming out small when taking during pregnancy. It was recommended to me that I reduce my dose so I was taking 40mg 3 times a day at the beginning of my pregnancy but I am now taking 20mg twice a day.
My baby is due next week and has an estimated size of 7.5lbs so absolutely no worries there.

I take propranolol 80mg daily for migraine prevention. I am under consultant care as this beta blocker inhibits growth of the baby in the final trimester. I have to have monthly growth scans from 28 weeks to monitor size and placenta function. They say it is less than ideal but the benefits to me outweigh the risks. You can certainly take it while pregnant so I wouldn’t worry about that but as you will have to weigh up the risk of a lower birth rate and potential induction due to poor growth. Hope you feel better soon x

Oh and when I started my pregnancy I was on 160mg if propranolol so 80mg is not as bad as it could be x

Thank you so much for sharing your stories. I was just wracked with guilt after taking it last night and sure that I had immediately killed the baby. I realise that's crazy now.
Usually once I get a good nights sleep it's a bit like a reset button and I stop getting the attacks.
I hope all you ladies continue to do well in your pregnancies.
