Hi. I am 26 weeks pregnant and 1 day today, and movements have been bugging me. I am a first time mam, so I don't really know what to expect. For the past couple of days, I have felt faint movements, sort of like she's behind my placenta but not as much as a week or so ago. Should I go and get checked? I don't want to look stupid, because I have felt her but the movements haven't been strong. I would know if anything is wrong wouldn't I? I'm just confused on what to expect.

I would go in to get checked if you feel a difference. I have an anterior placenta too but have been lucky to feel a lot compared to what I’ve read about other people’s experiwnces - but got checked out as soon as I felt a difference in movement. It’ll put your mind at rest too :)

Go get checked :)
I hadn't felt my baby move much one day over Xmas, rang the hospital and MAU said to come straight in, went in and my baby wouldn't keep still for long enough to get a good trace! Blush Typical but felt better knowing everything was ok.

Thankyou! I've just had a glass of water and have been laying, I can feel her now :) I'm going to see how she is today but thank you for your replys :)

Hi! I am 26 + 5 with an anterior placenta. This is my third pregnancy, previous posterior placentas so it’s all very new to me as well.
I can sympathise with your anxieties. I have always been able to tell when I had reduced feral movements but in this pregnancy it is near impossible to tell. In my honest opinion if you have an anterior placenta that cushions the majority of your movements (like mine) I genuinely don’t think you can tell if everything is ok. My midwife said if I was ever in any doubt phone in for a Doppler. She said anterior placenta are so difficult and never assume less movement is due to placenta, always get checked.
I wouldn’t hesitate to be seen with my placenta as I know I cannot tell when it’s moving and when it’s not... out of all my pregnancies this one issue has me the most anxious so it it was me I would get checked. X
