20 weeks pregnant - RAVENOUS - ideas of what to eat!

Hi ladies, I'm 20 weeks pregnant and ravenous most of the time.

I was overweight before I got pregnant so am conscious I don't want to put on too much weight, and also am still not liking anything other than bland food.

What's nutritious, not stupidly high fat/calorie and fairly bland...?! Help!! Am fed up of eating boiled eggs/chicken breasts/cucumber/tomato/apples/satsumas as my snacks!

Homemade slow cooker rice pudding or porridge

I’m 20 weeks and STARVING. I’ve been having cashew nuts, they’re ibviously high in calories but you don’t need too many to curb the hunger.

Keen to see what other suggestions come in!

I find a thin whole-wheat bagel (the 150 calorie ones) with some almond butter and topped with banana to be a good snack for between meals.

You only need around 300-400 calories extra per day so I count this as my extra calories and it fills me between lunch and dinner.
Could top a bagel with anything, this is just my personal favorite.

You could also try some Greek yogurt with fruit and granola or muesli.

For breakfast porridge is really the best, and you can customise with different fruit and nuts - at least will keep you full for a while! Try a high protein lunch, like a chicken breast - sweet potatoes are good.. they can just go in the oven. I find pulses quite filling like chickpeas or lentils... maybe you could do a pan of soup with lots of pulses and potatoes and veg then any time you feel hungry you could have a mug of soup?

If you can find some interesting falafels, preferably containing sultanas or similar (so they’re not completely dry), you might enjoy them. Lidl and M&S (I think) both do falafels fitting this description, and they were one of the earliest foods I could eat which were even vaguely healthy when my morning sickness started to abate.

Not sure why I hadn't thought of nuts, will get some in for snacks. Also like the idea of thin bagels - my body doesn't react well to a lot of bread so these sound a good idea.

Have been having some porridge but not regularly. Think will try and have it most mornings!

Tesco tomorrow!
