Breastfeeding vests/bras? Any tips?

Hi all :)

Just wondering if anybody has used vests with built in bra's before for breastfeeding, with the clips? If so, where did you get them from.

I have quite big boobs so if anyone else has and has tried them I'd love to know what you thought :)

I found it better to have a decent breastfeeding bra and then breastfeeding top because the vests seemed to stretch and just didn't feel comfortable to me. I didn't feel dressed!

If you have bigger boobs (as I do) then I recommend Molke bras. Look them up online. Not started breastfeeding yet but I've switched to only wearing these in pregnancy as they're so much more comfortable than anything else I found. Many people I know swear by them for breastfeeding too and they come in some great designs.

I have the mothercare crop top feeding thing

I have an f cup and it is not terrible comfortable

Bfing bra. Ordinary vest top. Any top on top that can be lifted up (ie not too fitted).
I found tips designed for bfing exposed more of me than the above arrangement, which I didn’t like. Fed for about 6 years (not the same baby!) with that arrangement.

I use the vests at night to sleep in as I find them more comfortable. I got them from H&M. In the day I use nursing bras from m&s for more support (f cup currently) with afeeding top from jojo maman.

Cheap boob tubes from Primark. I got them in the sale, 50p. Tucked under a decent bra. Greater choice of tops. I also had a hoody with zips for feeding.

I had a B-Shirt for my first and it was great, plan on getting some more for this one too!

I went and got fitted at Bravissimo for a couple of nursing bras once I’d been feeding for a few weeks. They were fab and I would recommend it. They also offered that I could hang out on their sofas at the back to feed DD, and could not have been more lovely and accommodating. I have a panache one that’s non-wired and two Freya ones that have a kind of underwire and are like t-shirt bras - they are brilliant.

If you are on facebook, join a group called 'can I breastfeed in it?'. Tonnes of advice and links to breastfeeding friendly clothes and bras. Really nice group of people too!

I used a couple of cheapy clip at the top ones until my size had settled down a bit then at about 6 weeks then went and got fitted for a normal bra at bravissimo. I just chose one I could pull the cup down on. Much less fiddly and way better fitting for me.

Be aware that when your milk comes in you may end up huge. I went from a D in early pregnancy to a G cup! I found the bravissimo breastfeeding bras all gave me mastitis early on because of being supportive so pushing breast tissue up/in a bit - basically for the first few months to avoid pain I needed a bra that didn’t press the tissue at all and let my boobs be where they wanted - at the bottom of my ribs, pointing in opposite directions! Once things settled I liked M&S fuller cup bralettes. Am now 16 months in and can wear a normal underwired bra again - just hoik the strap off my shoulder and pull the cup down to feed.

I didn't like the feeding vests with the clips, they will be going on ebay when I can be arsed with it. I have lots of bras with clips that are never used too. Now I use a M&S bralet that just pulls down. It works well with my feeding tops and dresses, or you can actually use any regular top with a vest underneath that pulls down too.
