Hiya!

I might be a bit early with this as the festival is a way off! I've been to Glastonbury twice before but not pregnant!
This is my first pregnancy and all being well I'll be 33 weeks at the time of the festival. Has anyone braved it this late in there pregnancy before?

I'm currently 32+5 and it would be madness. I can't walk (bad pgp). I sleep 12 hours a day. I wee all the time. You couldn't pay me to go!!!

ReggieKrayDoYouKnowMyName · 16/01/2019 18:53

In both pregnancies by then I was a physical wreck: everything was uncomfortable, walking and sitting both hard and I needed to see every 20mins. When I was 32 weeks with my second DH and I went to a comedy gig, which was very, very funny but deeply uncomfortable for me personally. If I had had to go to a festival in that state I would have wept. At that pregnant you need a nice soft bed and home comforts.

lambdroid · 16/01/2019 18:53

Not Glastonbury, but I went camping at a mini festival when I was 33 weeks with my first!

It was great but I have a bell tent I can stand up in, a double camp bed and had a she wee arrangement for during the night. I’m not sure I’d have fancied it in a standard tent!

ReggieKrayDoYouKnowMyName · 16/01/2019 18:54

Wee not see obvs!

Celebelly · 16/01/2019 18:55

I think it just really depends. I would have been fine as long as I could sit down a bit more frequently. But some people are really struggling by then. I'm 37 weeks now and it's only in the last couple of weeks I feel like my mobility is suffering, but you've no idea how you feel when you get there, really.

lambdroid · 16/01/2019 18:55

Also had PGP and was struggling to walk, but it wasn’t that kind of a festival. I also probably wouldn’t have gone if I’d had to walk a lot.

looktothewesternsky · 16/01/2019 18:57

Am 30 weeks and honestly can't imagine anything worse. Need to wee at least every 30 mins, bending / twisting to wipe is painful and in a tiny portaloo would be hell; lower back ache and pelvic pain is constant. I really wouldn't!!

Lightsabre · 16/01/2019 18:59

Might be pushing it - have you been before? It's a massive site with tons of walking and if it rains, it's super muddy and slippery. I think there are some luxury camping fields but these are £££. I'd go for that option and just try to do one or two bands/shows (but then it might b a waste of money!).

Lightsabre · 16/01/2019 19:00

Yes, forgot about the huge toilet queues - you'll need a 'she-wee'.

sillywitch · 16/01/2019 19:01

I went to Bestival pregnant and hated every minute! Tent next to us noisy and on drugs all night so no sleep, felt uncomfortable and unwell. Never again.

MissMoodyMoo · 16/01/2019 19:02

33w just now and I couldn't think of anything worse than going go a festival! All I want to do is stay in my Pjs and watch Netflix!! Not to mention you'll constantly need to pee and towards the end you'll get loose stools 🙈🙈

MissMoodyMoo · 16/01/2019 19:03

I went glaming at 14w and it was hell 😭

NerrSnerr · 16/01/2019 19:09

I couldn't have done it during either of my pregnancies. I would have been too uncomfortable and I just felt too unwell. A couple of my friends would have loved it.

PatrickMerricksGoshawk · 16/01/2019 19:09

Phoebe Aldridge was born at Glastonbury Grin

(But she is fictional Wink)

milly2000 · 16/01/2019 19:11

@Lightsabre yeah I've been twice before so no the site and my partner has been 4 times. I've said if we do it we will take a camper so I can shower, able to cook and rest.

I already have a sheewee from last experience if I'm bursting I'm pretty sure someone would let me push in if I needed to that badly.

@sillywitch I've done bestival without being pregnant and wouldn't go back wasn't very enjoyable at the best of times. Tbh I wouldn't even think about going for any other festival other than Glastonbury.

I have to decide by April maybe I'll just have to see how I feel at that point

Op, I did glasto in 2013 nearly 8 1/2 months pregnant. I didn't camp as had a camper van but I had no problems I wasn't the only heavily pregnant person. We were lucky it wasn't muddy as it might be a struggle walking in the mud, and the ground was dry so I could sit on the ground.

Although.......I did give birth the following week. Must have been all that walking 😂

Racheyg · 16/01/2019 19:18

Not going wasn't an option either. There was no way I was missing the Rolling Stones

Blueberryblueberry · 16/01/2019 19:21

I vaguely remember (from my none-pregnant) festival days that they have a midwife on site at Glastonbury? Ah just enjoy it op! As long as you have a slightly more relaxed expectation it'll be great Grin

milly2000 · 16/01/2019 19:22

@Racheyg maybe I shouldn't rule it out then! I wouldn't have wanted to miss the Rolling Stones ether that's for sure!

Racheyg · 16/01/2019 19:26

@milly2000 they were awesome 😄

You know your body well enough, like you said you don't need to decide till April. Fingers crossed the weather stays dry for you

milly2000 · 16/01/2019 19:29

@Racheyg my partner was there he said it was amazing!
@Blueberryblueberry you both right I'll see how I feel in April and if I feel good why the hell not

I know someone who gave birth at Glastonbury. It’s no help to you OP but at least it shows you aren’t alone in thinking it’s possible!

PatriciaHolm · 16/01/2019 19:30

I did it at 7 months. BUT....we didn't camp! We did a B&b in the village. I also had a fantastically easy pregnancy.

gunnergirl · 16/01/2019 19:34

Def not Glastonbury at that stage of pregna cy I was just 34 weeks went to the cinema and laughed so hard at the film I went into early labour next day !!!!!!

gebs · 16/01/2019 19:34

I've been to glasto a few times recently, the only thing that could be difficult is the weather, I've been when it's dry and it's amazing and I can totally understand why people go pregnant/with small kids etc. On the flip side, if it's wet it would probably be really difficult, when I last went my dh and I slipped over so many times and you couldn't really sit anywhere. Plus the toilet situation may be harder as you'll want to go more I imagine! As someone else said I'm pretty sure they have midwifes and I've seen very pregnant ladies there before. I'm due a month before but I've ruled out going this year, if it's wet it would be far too difficult with a very small one!
