I am 30 weeks now and have been told by MW that if he has not turned by 34 weeks then we will have to look at our options asap (older son delivered at 36 wks)

Does anyone have ideas on ways to help him turn the right way up ?

MW advised swimming...

Isn’t scrubbing the floor meant to help? I’m 34 weeks and my baby went breech at 32 weeks, lots of walking, bouncing on my ball and spending time on all fours (not doing anything exciting 😂) got her to turn :)

All fours in the bath?!

Firstly, don’t worry that much at this point. 20% of babies are breech at 28/40. Only 4% by term. Which means most will turn anyway.

Moxibustion is supposed to be good. Does your trust do ECVs? Was your last birth vaginal? If so, that means that’s you have a fair likelihood of a positive breech birth, if chosen, if baby is in a suitable breech position.

Yes previous birth was vaginal (forceps) delivery...
Trying not to over think it at this stage but anything that helps is a bonus really

There's the old "scrub the kitchen floors"...which did nothing for my first breech baby, but did wonders for my kitchen floors! My first was a breech c-section. Actually a lovely delivery and all fine and good.

My second breech (because apparently I produce kids that are awkward from the get go), I am pretty sure flipped round when I was watching TV on all fours... just used to spend my evenings sightly angled head lower than bum, watching films or reading books on the floor. She flip flopped back and forth a few times in the final weeks, but ended up the right way round just in time and was a natural delivery. That delivery was a bitch mind you, but she was the right way round!

Hope you manage to flip your baby! Good luck with the delivery whichever way you baby decides to come :)

Thank you... might get cleaning the floors (or full house in coming weeks Smile) and take up a new TV watching position x

DD2 was breech, then head down, then breech, then head down. She couldn't make her mind up. She was born at 33 weeks head down. I remember looking at the time and ice at the top of the bump/bottom of the rib cage is meant to help them turn. Might be an old wives tale but can't hurt?

Anything that gets you on all 4s for a prolonged period of time really.

But just remember that some don't turn for good reason; cord length and position (i.e. around the neck) being 2.
