Hi, I’m expecting my first baby. I’m 15+3 I’m continuously tired and finding it hard to do the bare minimum a day. currently I’m a store manager and my job involves alot of mental and physical stress. I have been advised to get signed off work by my MW but I won’t be able to pay bills and save to buy nursery furniture whilst being on sick leave pay. Or maternity pay whatever my HR decide. And not sure on benefits entitlement without baby born as due in june. Confused

Ive been in hospital numerous occasions for low blood pressure and fainting. Now i have been diagnosed with low PAPP-A meaning baby could not develop as well and could have a earlier birth than expected with a tiny baby.

Help or advice pleasssee? Smile

Oh you poor thing. How about working less hours? Your gp can write a fit to work note saying you can work on the basis you have less hours. If there’s something specific contributing from work (eg if you have to stand a lot for your job which is making the fainting worse) your gp can say you can only work on the basis you have adapted duties (so for example sitting down rather than standing all day). Citizens advice told me if work can’t accomodate these moderations then work have to pay you your wage to not work. Not sure if this helps but feel for you. I’ve been signed off with pg nausea and feel dire, no way could I work but I’m now on ssp which is going to be a huge struggle.

Sorry I don’t have much advice but can sympathise. I’m 21 weeks, two little boys already age 3 and 13 months. I’m exhausted and haven’t stopped feeling sick yet. All I can suggest is making life as easy for yourself as possible, lower standards at home, book days off work to rest. I have only managed to work six hour days and am still not keeping on top of everything at home, but it’s really a short time and things will get easier - you’re past the worst!

This is not answer your question sorry but you really don’t need specific nursery furniture.

A would just go for a cot and a chest of drawers. You can’t put the changing mat on top of the chest of drawers at first. By 3 months it is much safer to change them on the floor.

Re PAPP A - I have low papp a too. My midwife said she doesn't know a single person with low papp a that has had a small or pre term baby.
They will book you extra growth scans to keep an eye on bubs. If they don't, ask them too. Likely 28 and 36 weeks.
It has associations with smaller babies but not guarantees. Don't panic!
