Threadworms!!!

I am 13 and a half weeks pregnant and I have caught threadworms from my four year old. My GP has said strict hygiene is the only cure at the moment. However, I am showering twice a day, using clean towels, have changed the bedding, wearing clean tight pants and have treated my son but about the only relief I get is sitting in a bath. I am getting virtually no sleep because of the itching and feel disgusting as they seem to be multiplying by the day. I am at my wits end and am desperate. I need to know if anyone has taken Ovex at this stage of pregnancy and were there any complications? Does anyone have any other remedies that I can use as I can't begin to contemplate another six months of this torture. There are so many conflicting reports out there but most of the articles are quite a few years old. I don't need views but only actual reports from anyone who has used this treatment and if there were any complications.

Hi, I feel your pain! I had this when I was about 18 weeks pregnant, the joy of living with a primary school teacher!!
There are 2 natural remedies that I found really worked - pumpkin seeds and pineapple!
The pumpkin seeds apparently stun the threadworms, so its easier to pass them (you will see them in your poo!)
Pineapple they don't like as it soo acidic i guess.
I found these relieved the symptoms, but didnt totally clear them but got rid of painful/ continuous itching.
My other recommendation is to cut sugar almost completely if you can - as they love it and it drives them crazy and causes flair ups!
For me, after getting rid of all symptoms at around 18-20 weeks - they then came back at about 38 weeks due to me being on mat leave and eating too much crap to cheer myself up!
Luckily, once my DS arrive I think my super strict hygiene and massive knickers seem to eradicate them - and they've never returned (4 years on!)

I meant to add I wouldn't risk ovex in pregnancy or when breastfeeding, not worth the risk
