Pregnant but still having periods

I have just read about someone who was 5 months gone before they found out they were expecting as they were still having periods. Whan would be the best time to do a test if there was a chance of this?

14 days after unprotected sex would be a starting point for testing

Rationally I know I can't be but I am feeling sick and I swear I sometimes feel what feels like something moving around inside me. Maybe it is psycological.

could be wind? seriously......

DO a test , more than likely it will be negative, but then you will know for sure.....

if you are using contraception , and having periods and no other symptoms, odds are, you are imagining it

I am worried as I am on medication which would be bad for baby and another pregnancy could kill me. Nearly died having the last one, as did the baby.

My friend found out she was pregnant at 20 weeks - she'd been on the pill, and her periods had continued all the way through. She went to her doctor's at 8-12 weeks complaining of nausea and sickness - the doctors said she had a virus and told her to rest etc.

At 20 weeks she realised her tummy was rather large, and did a pregnancy test on the offchance - it was positive!

The rest of her pregnancy went fine - she did worry a little as she ate loads of brie, didn't take any folic acid and smoked about 15 a day for the first 20 weeks. Baby Millie arrived healthy and well and is now a gorgeous 18 month old

I had 'periods' through the first trimester, but they were significantly different to normal periods - they were much less heavy, and were really just little bleeds that happened to be at the times my period would have been due. (they were terrifying - especially as I'd had a miscarriage the year before).

What I'm trying to say is that I think it would be extremely unusual for periods to just carry on completely as normal - I reckon they must change slightly even for people who don't notice they're pregnant, but the changes don't register with them. So I reckon if they're the same as before, you're probably not pg. Not that I'm an expert or anything.

This month I had a bleed 1 week early and then it was on one day off the next for four days, and then in total it was 10 days. I am normally 5 days. I have recently started taking iron tablets and Agnus Caster so assumed it was due to that. Just really don't want to waste £7 on a test if I am not.

tests are £3 or so in tesco

not a waste if stops you worrying
