Feeling pretty crap... come and join me in a moan?!

Anyone else feeling crappy?

I’m 24 weeks and have been restless for a while, but it’s just getting worse and worse. I struggle to fall asleep, but usually do drift off after a while. Only to be woken up a couple of hour later needing the loo. Then I just don’t get back to sleep and lay there awake for hours. It’s so frustrating. There’s not even any ‘reason’ for it, it’s not that I’m uncomfortable or worrying or anything like that.

Having said that I’m not uncomfortable, I do have PGP which is getting pretty bad. Walking hurts, sitting hurts, using the stairs hurts... That, plus frequent headaches, means I’m just starting to feel shit pretty much all the time.

I can’t even rest during the day as have to work 3.5 days a week (with two of those days having a 2 hour commute each way) and have to look after my 1 year old the rest of the time.

Argh! Only 16 weeks to go.

Hi I'm currently 27+1 with baby number 5! Sleep is not an issue yet for me but I do feel for you as no matter how much sleep I get I still feel permanently exhausted. I look and feel 40 weeks already I'm sure she is going to be huge haha even walking to local shop has me in agony across the bottom of bump and lower back. 13 weeks seems so long I wish it would hurry up now

Ijustwanttofeelbeautiful · 07/01/2019 09:58

Wow, 5 DCs! How old are the others? I can’t imagine how exhausting that must be, just one DC is bad enough for me!

Yes absolutely, I love my children but the holidays have been a little draining haha my children are 12,8,4,3 the younger two can be a handful sometimes although adorable for the most part but looking forward to them being back at nursery tomorrow. Luckily this pregnancy has gone pretty quick up till now so hoping it flies by

I'm 31 weeks with my first baby and so far have been pretty lucky in that I haven't felt too bad. But now I've come down with a horrific cough and cold and feel rough as a badger's arse! Grin

Springmummy19 · 07/01/2019 10:39

I'm 25 weeks and I totally understand how you feel. on a day to day basis I'm okay but I find that I'm not sleeping much. I need the loo every few hours, I have unbelievably vivid nightmares and then there is the whole needing to turn from 1 side to the other which has become a 3 step process now. I'm also getting really bad Carpal tunnel at night which doesn't help.

I work 5 days a week and live 25 miles away from the office. I'm ready to go to sleep by 3pm so having to drive home in the dark is also becoming a struggle. I just keep telling myself it will all be worth it.

Exhaustedmummy1811 · 07/01/2019 10:45

Oohh the 3 step turn, yes completely feel your pain on that one. Luckily I got the dreams, cough and cold all in the first trimester when I was already feeling shocking so I'll be greatful for that at least. My biggest symptom right now is being emotional I seem to burst in tears all the time, I cried at the greatest showman, because my daughter was a shepard and not angel and I didn't want her to wear brown lol and yesterday because it is so unfair that human pregnancy is almost 10 months and I wanted to be like a chicken and just sit on an egg lol

Ijustwanttofeelbeautiful · 07/01/2019 10:48

Exhaustedmummy1811 that’s a big age range. It must be so exciting for them all to be expecting a new addition to the family. Hope the rest of the pregnancy passes quickly for you too Smile

CobaltRose96 sorry you’re unwell! I was unwell with repeated cold viruses for the first 20 weeks! Then had a couple of weeks where I felt “ok” and now this. Hope it passes for you soon Brew

Springmummy19 is this first baby? Have you planned your maternity leave? I’ve heard that with carpal tunnel the doctor give you something to support your wrist which should help the pain... just one thing that might make a small improvement for you!

Yes I was very smug with the first 3 such lovely age gaps then I conceived the fourth when the youngest one was only 6 months so that was a bit of a shock. In some ways they are so close because the gap is small in other ways it makes them so alike they just scrap over everything haha me too I just want to feel like a normal functioning human again haha I'm a bit achy today as last night I somehow managed to forget I was pregnant and jumped up off the sofa so fast I managed to pull something, my brother found this highly amusing lol

Springmummy19 · 07/01/2019 11:14

@Ijustwanttofeelbeautiful Yeah This is our first baby after 18 months of TTC and I wont lie, I did struggle to enjoy pregnancy because I was so worried about something going wrong and I questioned every change I went through, it was only after a good telling off from hubby (rightly so) that I released I do need to just take a step back and enjoy it more, which I am doing but sometimes I cant help just feel a bit meh. I guess our body is subconsciously getting ready for the sleepless nights to come.

Ijustwanttofeelbeautiful · 07/01/2019 11:23

Exhaustedmummy1811 ah that’s the same age gap between my DCs! I’m a little worried about it, everyone keeps telling me how hard it’s going to be. I’m hoping it will get easier after a couple of months? And hopefully they’ll be super close and best friends.

Hmm at your brother finding it funny! He’ll never know how sore pregnancy can be without additional strains like that!

Springmummy19 it’s completely understandable to feel anxious! You’ve invested so much into the pregnancy even before you conceived, of course you’re going to be a bit worried that it’s not going to go to plan. However you’re over the riskiest stage now so definitely do try to relax and enjoy it Smile

I found things weren't too bad with the small gap till the youngest was almost 2, then she hit the terrible 2's and became a nightmare haha she has just turned 3 last week and she is still a bit of a handful, is into everything, always needs entertaining, and still a little mischief maker if not watched. I'm hoping she might start to grow out if it now.
No I do t think men understand pregnancy at all, I feel like a need a winch and pulley system just to get out of bed now, so no idea where last night's energy came from lol

Springmummy19 · 07/01/2019 11:34

Ijustwanttofeelbeautiful Yeah I am trying to now. We're starting the baby shopping this week so thats exciting. I think we all just want April to hurry up now!

Ijustwanttofeelbeautiful · 07/01/2019 11:56

Haha I’m still weeks behind you but totally agree about the winch and pulley! I hope your youngest calms down a little when the baby is born, or you’ll be run ragged!

Yes, bring on April! Grin
