Breast pump recommendations?

I’m 22w+4d with my first baby :)! I’m planning on combining breast feeding and the bottle, was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on pumps they’ve liked? Looking for something good but not too expensive!

Honestly, I’d leave it until baby arrives. It’s not recommended to pump straightaway and if you need to, the hospital will probably loan one to you Smile

Have you looked into hand expressing to?

Have you looked into the possibility of hand extressing instead of using a pump?

It’s probably worth talking your plans through with a BFC though Smile Have you got the Helpline Numbers or are you in touch with your local La Leche League Leader?

I would wait until baby is here. I have a mam manual pump but after loaning one from my health visitor i got the Madela swing which I found a lot better as it's electric

I used a Spectra S2, got it pretty cheap second hand and just bought new flanges etc. and it worked well. It's a double electric so I could pump while relaxing/reading/playing on the computer. Last time around I had a manual and found it far too difficult to get any milk out with.

Also had a silicon letdown "pump" which you just suction onto the other breast while feeding from one side and it collects the milk that otherwise just drips everywhere and gets wasted, would usually get 30-50ml at a time with that which might not seem like much but when you get that every feed it adds up.

I have a tommee tippee electric pump. It’s effective but bloody noisy.

I bought a Naturebond pump of amazon which suctions to the boob you aren’t feeding from at the time and collects the leakage (and a bit because of the pressure of the suction) which I’m getting on better with so I would get one of those in :)
