Digestive 'discomfort'

Hi all, I'm 6 weeks and for a good few days have been suffering from mild tummy ache and diarrhoea, the diarrhoea is only once or twice a day but the tummy ache is getting a bit concerning, it seems worse when I wake up. I really wouldn't describe it as 'cramping' definitely a dull ache.
I have been feeling queasy throughout the day which is getting worse now too (assume its morning sickness)

Anyone had experience of this? Is it a normal symptom or should I talk to my doc?

I had an upset stomach early on in my pregnancy too (although I do have IBS which is probably why). My doctor wasn't overly concerned.

Have you booked in for your midwife appointment yet? You could mention it to her then. Always see your GP if you're worried but as far as I know it's a normal (albeit annoying) symptom of pregnancy!

Congratulations by the way :)

I felt the exact same way at the beginning, sounds very normal x

I have the exact opposite problem. I am quite constipated and it's very uncomfortable. I'm five weeks. I understand the hormones in the early days can play havoc with our digestive systems

Had something similiar too! Also felt like I’d done 100 crunches in my asleep most days during the first trimester 😂 stay hydrated with plenty of water and fruits and veg and if you do end up constipated get some fibre down you! Weetabix is a gem!

Karigan195 · 01/01/2019 09:19

I’ve got the opposite too but understand the hormones can make your system go funny either way. Personally I’m totally bloated and look pregnant already despite being only at 6 weeks and not actually putting on weight. Trying to keep the fibre going etc.

It's hormonal. They make your digestive system crazy! Should settle in a few weeks.

Thanks all, that makes me feel better! Hopefully it goes away soon, but doesn't go the opposite way!

That's a really good way of putting it @snoopy18 that's what it feels like!
