Such an idiot - veet burn

I am SUCH an idiot I took a notion today to veet down below and, as I'm 39 weeks, and can barely see my bits, the cream got on my labia and it BURNS 🙈

Spent the last week hoping labour kicks off naturally and now I can barely walk and am praying I don't have labour on top of this!

Any advice/sympathy/scolding would be gladly accepted 😭

Oh you poor bugger. I've been there, but not while pregnant. I was just a bit lapse in my timing before holiday one year. My only recommendations are Vaseline and a jug of water to pour over your genitals if it stings when you wee. It will pass, I promise - and if you go in to labour, you won't worry about it!

Sudacreme! I did this a few weeks ago 😂

Watto1 · 31/12/2018 22:42

Oh dear! I used to work in the complaints department for Veet. You have just discovered the reason why the warning not to use it on The genital area is on the instructions! Sitting in a cold bath is my best recommendation.

Nappy rash cream works a treat! 😳

BibiThree · 31/12/2018 22:47

I got some on my csection scar once, thought it was being burned open. Lots of cold, wet flannels on the area to cool the skin and reduce inflammation.

LeeCee · 31/12/2018 22:52

Thanks all appreciate the sympathy and really really good to know I'm not the only one! I have tried sudocreme, will move on to nappy rash cream - luckily I've stocked up ahead of baby's arrival. I feel I may be spending some of tonight dipping in a cold bath 😬

@Watto1 they should also warn baby brain people, if you can't see the area, don't risk it 😂😂

I can't use veet as I have too many stretch marks and as soon as it goes over it feels on fire

LokiDokiArtichoki · 31/12/2018 23:05

Smother the sudocreme/nappy cream on a maternity pad and pop it in your knickers

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 31/12/2018 23:12

You think you're daft OP? Years ago my DP used Immac as shaving cream! GrinGrin When I stopped laughing I put a cold flannel on his face to cool it and rubbed it with aloe vera gel!

LeeCee · 01/01/2019 14:34

I took @LokiDokiArtichoki advice and managed to sleep ok with a pad smothered in sudocreme between my legs. Much better today. Thanks for all the sympathy and solidarity!

Glad it worked.

That’s also a top tip for if you have any stitches that are sore after giving birth!

CrabbyPatty · 01/01/2019 18:25

I didn't know that was a thing! I 35 weeks and Vested down below the other day. Sounds like I had a lucky escape. When I checked in the mirror it was a terrible patchy job of it!

le42 · 01/01/2019 18:34

Owwww! Poor you!! I’m having a wax this week and I feel like I might regret it 🙈😂

LeeCee · 01/01/2019 18:44

@CrabbyPatty mine was too thorough a job 😂 you're definitely better off patchy!

Ouchy! This made me squirm and I had an episiotomy 2.5 weeks ago 😆 I hope it feels better today Flowers

8DaysAWeek · 01/01/2019 20:58

I shaved down there when I was that far pregnant and it was so itchy and sore afterwards!! Wonder if it's a weird pregnancy sensitivity thing also. Though, as you said, veeting near your genitals with next to no visualisation is probably never a good idea 😂
