Hi

I’m just wondering where you guys bought your baby clothes from? We’re having a boy & there isn’t much choice tbh. I’ve got some so far from H&M, George, tu, mothercare. Thank you

Ooh I hadn’t seen Babipur before- agree looks great! Thanks to those who suggested it.

I like John Lewis, Hatley, Fruli, Polarn O Pyret, Boden. The latter all last pretty well too. DS2 has an amazing pair of multicoloured stripe leggings from Fruli that went from 6 months to nearly two! (The waistband rolled up) I loved it as so much boys’ stuff is grey/ blue etc. Tobias and the Bear is quite good too for prints.

Zara have the nicest boys clothes I've found. La Redoute have nice stuff too if you search though the site

I haven't liked anything I've seen in store (having my first DS next month!) at all. People keep suggesting usual suspects like Next but just not to my tase.

I've found H&M & Zara (love their knitted bits) have a fab online range far better than in store, M&S great for basics like white babygros, Primark also great for vests etc.

ASDA particularly Billie Faiers range do some lovely knitted babygrows, cardis, blankets and so reasonable in price. They look boutique bought!

I'm really not a fan of bright colours and busy prints or same old blues. I love all the skandi and neutral clothing (cream, grey, mustard, orange, stripes, navy) so it depends on what you like! I know lots of my relatives think my baby wardrobe is boring but I love it!

For pricey bits and treats I love Organic Zoo, Scandiborn, and Trouva!

Good luck xx

It depends hugely on personal taste really...

John Lewis (their own brand) is by far my favourite. Good quality, not wildly expensive, wear very well, and they have nice unusual prints and colours that are totally suitable for either boys or girls. Their multipacks of vests are brilliant, with nice and bright fun colours. Recently my little boy has had some lovely JL bits - a fab hoodie with dragons and squirrels on, a jumper in a lovely jungle print, and various bits with llamas / cactuses on.

I also quite like Sainsbury's - if you sift through the stuff with slogans you can find some nice bits. They're quite good for jeans / joggers / basics. We got some fab joggers with orange dinosaurs on them the other day.

H&M also quite good, although the sizes are confusing.

I loved Boots when my boy was tiny - they have such lovely babygros and rompers in bright unusual prints. Often on 3 for 2 as well.

I do like the look of Frugi and those more expensive brands, but they're overpriced so tend to only buy in the sale. Or my mum tends to splash out on some more expensive bits now and then.

Blade and Rose leggings are gorgeous and are so stretchy that they last and last so good value.

For independent clothes makers you can't beat Boy & Bird if you want something special / custom.

Babies don’t care about ‘nice’. It just has to be clean and fit.

I don’t see the point in spending on clothes they grow out of in a few weeks.

smellsofelderberries · 31/12/2018 13:28

Bonds for jammies (zips!!), Zara and M&S for day clothes.

WatchingTheWheels85 · 31/12/2018 13:32

I always used pex, sarah louise, emile et rose, pretty originals, coco, mayoral. But my taste is very traditional I even had a coach built pram.

TheRhythmlessCarolMan · 31/12/2018 13:35

I'm an ebayer tbh but I've had some really cute clothes given to my baby from M&Co.

reallyanotherone · 31/12/2018 13:39

Does pumpkin patch still exist? I used to like that for less gendered stuff and a better range of colours. The fit was always comfy too.

Ime babies are best in babygrows until 5 or 6 months anyway. Easy to wash, easy to change nappies, easy to strip on and off when needed. No need for socks either as they have feet. Wrestling small babies into trousers is just hassle and they always looked constricted round the waist.

RockingAroundTheChristmasTree1 · 31/12/2018 22:05

You will be changing clothes so many times a day when your little one arrives, you won't care after a few weeks! As long as it's clean lol! Just get a few nice little outfits..my ds1 is three and I already have six big storage tubs full of really expensive clothes..I haven't made the same crazy mistake with DS2..he has a few beautiful outfits, but the majority of him he is in a baby grow! Just don't go too crazy spending loads of money!!

EssentialHummus · 31/12/2018 22:21

I agree with others - 1) it depends on your definition of nice and 2) you can find lovely practical rompers at the stores named above. My favourites for DD came from Next and Gap.

TheSubtleKnifeAndFork · 01/01/2019 08:36

I should add - totes agree about outfits for babies! Never bothered. Mine lived in baby gros (mostly) until almost 1!! And then moved into vests and leggings. But there is no harm in having baby gros that you like looking at either IMO. You don't have to spend a fortune.

Boots mini club have gorgeous clothes and lots in the sale atm Smile

hammeringinmyhead · 01/01/2019 14:28

My boy had a lot of lovely stuff from Nutmeg at Morrison's when he was under 7lb. Today he is in mint green from John Lewis which is unisex. The rest are from Jojo (gifts), Boots Mini Club, Fred and Noah, Next, Tu and Tesco.

silkpyjamasallday · 01/01/2019 14:31

Zara has a good selection of baby clothes, lots of cotton and some cashmere bits.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 01/01/2019 14:32

I like Next, Morrisons, John Lewis, Boots & Asda. All mine have been light but tall baby's & toddlers & these seem to last well. I did have a few Mothercare bits but they seemed designed for baby's the opposite build to mine.

BikeRunSki · 01/01/2019 14:38

Well, everybody’s idea of nice is different.
I like brights and Scandi patterns, that were not particularly boy-ey or girly.

H&M, Boots, John Lewis, Sainsbury’s, Next, Little Bird at Mothercare , Jojo. The occasional gem in Asda too. Odd bits in TK Maxx.

Next and the supermarkets cater for a wide range of tastes.

LittleTipple · 06/01/2019 16:03

@Lou0219 Petit Bateau has some lovely styles.

SPARKS17 · 06/01/2019 16:18

I buy most of my baby clothes online. Best quality are Jojo maman Bebe, Petit Bateau and Newbie.

I’m not a massive fan of supermarket clothes but I do buy the Waitrose bodysuits and will buy bits from TU when they do 50% off. I like H&M for leggings. M&S, Next and Mothercare are ok but very popular.

Nanasueathome · 06/01/2019 16:33

I always used to buy Absorba
My children are grown up now and I’ve just checked.....the brand is still going strong
