I have been getting headache pass few days and today is a lot worse. I just want to sit in a dark room as not liking the light. I am worried might getting pre esclama like with my first child I don't know if I am worrying about nothing. Been told to go on aspirin at 12 weeks . Not not going to take until scan on Wednesday in case less.

It would be spectacularly bad luck to get PE prior to 12 weeks. PE normally doesn't occur until you are past 20 weeks.

The headaches are probably hormonal (I suffer terribly with headaches in pregnancy). That said, if in any doubt at all it is always better to speak to your midwife of GP to be sure all is well.

I have been high risk of PE this whole pregnancy and was told to take aspirin from the minute I told them I was pregnant - however, within the first and second trimester I had headaches exactly how you described. It was a hormonal thing, they were god awful and I couldn’t do anything. I wouldn’t worry too much unless you end up with other symptoms alongside them. Obviously if that worried contact your midwife or maternity unit x

I started taking aspirin at around 15 weeks in my second pregnancy , I started feeling generally very unwell in myself around 34-36 weeks but I couldn’t really pinpoint why, blood pressure was obviously raised and ++ protein in my urine and the headaches were horrid and unlike your ‘every day headache’. So I wouldn’t worry too much at this stage unless you have the protein and raised blood pressure, apparently it’s very very unlikely to occur this early in pregnancy. I would say it’s most likely hormonal. I was seeing flashing lights etc around 12 weeks with a persistent headache but it went away over time. I knew I had developed PE again, I knew how I was feeling wasn’t right and was actually told I had it again just after I delivered my baby.
Hold on in there , you might escape it this time! But obviously anything you are unsure about always call your midwife and get your blood pressure & urine checked. Xx

Well there is no way of knowing without seeing a midwife/doctor. I had pre eclampsia which was diagnosed via blood pressure check, pee check, and headache. I felt like death

Pre e happens after 20 weeks. The headaches at 12 weeks won't be pre e.

I had pre-eclampsia. I bought myself a bp machine from boots so I could keep an eye on it myself.

If you're in any doubt please seek proper medical advice. We're not doctors and we don't know your history etc.

I had pre eclampsia, it didn't start until I was 37 weeks, I had a fall at the doctors, got up off the bed after the midwife had measured my bump & got my jeans caught on the brake on the bed, I broke my fingers after putting my hand out to save myself, within 5 days I looked like a Michelin woman I'd blown up by 3 stone. I had not what you would call a headache, it was more like that funny feeling you get when you are getting drunk, it felt tight like my head was a balloon , my husband dragged me to the doctors but I refused to go in hospital, I went to bed for the rest of the day & the midwife came later to check my bp, she came back the next morning to check it again & came back in the afternoon, she told me I had to go to the hospital to be checked over, they kept me in & induced me. I ended up having an EMCS but was very poorly. If you think you might have pre eclampsia, go & get checked, take a urine sample, it's easier to treat if it's caught early.
