Hiya
Sooooo we are considering ( very excitedly) having Baby number 4
I’m now 36
I had one in my teens, one in my 20s and one when I was 30
So what I want too know is am I now a bit old to be considering this? What’s the difference now I’m a tad older ?
Thank you x

Lots of women have babies at 36 or older - their first or a later

Milligan123 · 30/12/2018 18:33

I'll be 39 when I have my first, she's due in march x

Gillian1980 · 30/12/2018 18:36

No, not too old!

Had my first at 35 and second is due when I’m 39.... and DH is a few years older than me.

I think I may have been more energetic when I was slightly younger but then we wouldn’t have been as secure in terms of work/finances etc.

EverythingNow · 30/12/2018 18:37

I'm 39 and 9wks with number 4. I have 18, 9 and 7 yo dc. Took waaay longer to fall pregnant with this one but that could have been down to other factors as well.

LokiDokiArtichoki · 30/12/2018 19:03

I’m 37, have 2 teens and a toddler and am 20 weeks with #4.

TinselandToblerones · 30/12/2018 19:05

Oh gosh no, not at all.

Think you’re bonkers going back to the baby years though Grin

SuperSange · 30/12/2018 19:14

I was 42 when I had my first. X

Strongecoffeeismydrug · 30/12/2018 19:16

I had first age 21
Second age 30
Third age 41
It's actually been easier with the last one and I've two grandchildren to run around after as well.

irnbruforlife · 30/12/2018 19:18

Technically not too old but I think you will probably find pregnancy and motherhood more tiring. I had one in my teens then one in my 30s and the difference was a shock to the system, the latter pregnancy just about finished me off! In hindsight I wish I'd had both my children before I hit 20, I may have even had another one 😂

MrsWidgerysLodger · 30/12/2018 19:22

I had my first at 37!

WhoAmIToDissABrie · 30/12/2018 20:02

36 is not too old at all!

NatureGal · 30/12/2018 20:54

I am having my fourth at 37. I don't feel old, my consultant thinks I am ancient though. Tactful he is not.😁

gt84 · 30/12/2018 23:49

I don’t think you’re too old at all! They do say it takes longer to fall pregnant the older you are though.
I’m 35, have two teens and considering a third with my husband, it would be his first biological child. I do worry about going back to the baby years though and coping with GCSEs/A levels and potentially a toddler. And how it will affect my older two

UatuTheWatcher · 31/12/2018 19:13

I had my first when I was 37, second at 41 and 3rd when I was 43.

I’m now 53 and I find it difficult to keep up with them and I have a serious health problem that has raised its ugly head in the last year.

Shadow1234 · 01/01/2019 04:43

I had my third child at 38.

Karigan195 · 01/01/2019 11:14

Having my second at 41. 42 by the time he or she will be born.

I don’t feel too old. But I’m pretty active and healthy.

Grimbles · 01/01/2019 19:23

I had my first at 35 and I'm 41 now and due my second in a few weeks.

Squiff70 · 01/01/2019 19:30

Nope. I'm 36 and having my first babies (twins) in May. I'll be nearly 37.

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 01/01/2019 19:48

No I don't think it's too old. I had my first at 20 and my fourth at 29 and I did find motherhood more tiring and the sleepless nights got to me more, so physically it was more wearing on me and I found the pregnancy harder.
But as a bit older I found I had more patience and confidence as a mother, so there's good and bad.
I'm 31 now and won't be having any more as I don't want to bringing up babies in my forties but that's just my personal opinion.

NChangeForNoReason · 02/01/2019 13:15

First at 20, second at 37!!! (DSD is in the middle)

Bunnybaubles · 02/01/2019 14:18

Had my first at 17, second when I was 18, third when I was 36 and loved it so much im doing it again at 37.

I was consultant led and I did ask if i was considered an old mum and they laughed and said definitely not, mud to late 30's in now the average age for pregnancies 😊

Bunnybaubles · 02/01/2019 14:19

*mid to late 30's

Honeybee79 · 02/01/2019 14:29

First at 31 and am having my 3rd next week at 39. You're definitely not too old!

OhFlipMama · 02/01/2019 14:33

I'm pregnant now. Late 30's. To be honest I am noticing a few differences as it's not my first pregnancy and I was more youthful before! I'm getting more niggles and can't do as much as my brain tells me I want to do! But it's not awful and not too old, just noticeably a bit different!
