The changing bag that came with our travel system is so tiny, so I need to buy a new one. Not anything designer as we’re not looking to spend a fortune, maximum around £50. Seen a few nice and practical looking ones on Amazon but wondered if anyone has any recommendations from experience? Thanks! X

Ooh watching! So many I’ve seen are incredibly chintzy looking and I want something practical, not overly complicated and plain but nice looking.

I have almost exactly the same as this but in a fabric. I wish I had gone for tan. It has loads of space for everything I need.

Pacapod - can be a bit more but really impressed!
Bought a babymel (I think that’s the make last time and it was pants! Really hard to find anything as it was basically a sack bag.
They do some very good priced back pack changing bags on eBay too

DailyFailAreTwats · 30/12/2018 16:55

I git a PacaPod second hand on eBay and love it!

I have tried a few different once over the years, but I find a normal rucksack the easiest and most versatile (cheaper too!). I found The proper changing bags were too faffy for me and wanted something simple.

tryinganewname · 30/12/2018 17:03

Whatever you choose, get one that goes on your back and not a side strap one.. they're a major pain in the arse!

JohnLapsleyParlabane · 30/12/2018 17:03

I had several bags first time around, and ended up with a red one of these from Etsy www.etsy.com/uk/listing/168180277/cognac-brown-canvas-backpackunisex

They also do an official diaper bag but I preferred this shape.

emzw12 · 30/12/2018 17:04

I'd highly recommend a backpack style one - the shoulder ones are so hard to carry with baby in the other arm!

Watching this thread with interest as have my eye on the Tiba+Mark rucksack but would prefer something that doesn’t require spending more than £50!

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 30/12/2018 17:07

I used a North Face backpack. It fitted everything in. It didn't used to swing round annoyingly. It fitted under my pram perfectly and didn't need to sit over the bars and keep falling down the handles...
When I went out with her in a sling/carrier it would go on my back.
She's 4 and I still use it for days out and other uses too really. It's lasted exceptionally well.
Definitely recommend.

HJWT · 30/12/2018 17:19

Either of these are a great size, lots of pockets, easy to carry Smile

I'm loving the look of something like this for DC2. Definitely agree go for backpack style instead of side bag.

This one is reduced to £59 at John Lewis.
Has backpack and strap options.

Get a small rucksack. So much easier, especially when they start walking, the bag won’t swing round and slap them in the face.

At our NCT group, all the first time mums had massive bags, one older Mum had a few bits in a rucksack and looked totally impressive.

My friend who is a private HV took my changing bag from me and said all you need is a nappy in your coat pocket and a few wipes. You’ll hurt your back carrying a massive bag and a baby,

Mrsmummy90 · 30/12/2018 18:34

We love the caboodle change bags. Google them :)

Veuve1985 · 30/12/2018 21:00

Has anyone got a cath kidson one? They look super pretty!!

Nappy Changing Bag Backpack -... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07CZCCY97?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf&tag=mumsnetforum-21

I have this and for the price it’s great!

MummaGiles · 30/12/2018 21:12

Had a pacapod for DS1 which I loved as it made it so easy to keep things organised, but will be getting a backpack style for DC2.

HJWT · 30/12/2018 22:52

@WindyWednesday were do you put your phone keys purse? Bottles if your not BF? Pads? Etc

8DaysAWeek · 30/12/2018 23:49

With 2 year old DS I can get away with sticking a couple of nappies and wipes in a small handbag. But as a baby, even when EBF, I managed to fill a changing bag with toys, muslins, change of clothes, nappies, wipes, teething ring, purse etc. Some of it never essential when you remember to pack them but always needed when you don't!!

smellsofelderberries · 31/12/2018 13:27

Get a backpack. I used my SkipHop nappy bag for 3 months (on and off- alternating with just throwing a few bits in my regular handbag). DD took her first steps at 10 months and having a backpack made life so much easier!

kmreeve · 31/12/2018 15:19

I love my hand bag, it goes everywhere with me so the thought of a handbag and a nappy bag seemed ludicrous- so Iv opted for a nappy bag that looks like a handbag. I will have all my bits in there ( purse, small make up bag etc etc and baby bits) that way I'm only taking out one bag.

Iv got the babymel grace xx
