ELCS at weekends St Marys Manchester?

Does anyone know if St Marys do ELCS at weekends? I'm due to have one at 39 weeks which is a Sunday and wondering what day they will do it on and if it's only a weekday are they likely to do it the Friday or the Monday? I don't see the consultant again until May when they will list me and do my consents etc

I don't know the answer to your question exactly, but I'm under St Mary's too and ended up there yesterday at the assessment unit. The entire maternity unit was operating just as busily as normal except scans, which are shut on a Saturday but open on a Sunday. This suggests that Sundays may just be a normal day to them! Xx

Thanks for the reply token and I hope all was well at the assessment unit, I had a section there earlier this year but it was following a failed induction so was midway between EMCS and ELCS so wasn't sure what happened at weekends so glad to know it was still business as usual for the most part

They'll likely do it the monday, if there's space. They don't do then at weekends, unless you go in to labour at a weekend and need one.

Nope they don't do them at weekends. They won't do it on the Friday. They may not do it on the Monday, you'll get the first available slot from the Monday onwards when they book you in for it.

Thanks both, that's good to know. After a 3 day failed induction last time I was listed for theatre 2 days on the run and gowned up all day nil by mouth but they ran out of time with emergencies so was cancelled off the list around 9pm so wanting to avoid a long week and hopefully just get a day arranged (although I know always a chance of getting cancelled for emergencies which I don't mind of course)

Oh gosh, sounds a bad experience last time. Fingers crossed it's more straightforward this time.

Thankyou! The c section itself once it happened was a great experience much better than I expected, they did encourage me to have a section at 38 weeks due to what they expected was a big baby but I opted for an induction and nothing would get me going so I snapped their hand off for ELCS this time
