Yep

Ifyouthinkiwillsleepyoudream · 29/12/2018 17:58

Anything pasteurised should be safe

toomanyflatwhites · 29/12/2018 18:58

Yes - but the kind of goats cheese that comes in a cylindrical shape but had a rind would be a no, for the same reasons you can't eat Brie and Camembert (or so I believe, anyway!!)

Melamine · 29/12/2018 19:00

What toomanyflatwhites said, this one is fine but the chèvre one isn’t. But you could have that cooked like Camembert etc! Mmm, cheese.

I'm 8 weeks and consumed an entire one of these in two days last week because it was the only thing I fancied! My appetite has picked up a bit but I sent DH to the shops today to get another one, so that's a yes from me.

Lovewinemorethanhusband · 29/12/2018 20:05

Yep that's fine and is lovely !, I just cut the rind off brie if I want to eat it cold, my consultant has said that's fine to eat it that way

TheSubtleKnifeAndFork · 29/12/2018 20:12

@Lovewinemorethanhusband your consultant is talking tosh. The recommendation to avoid brie has nothing to do with the rind, it's about the liklihood of listeria being higher in mould-ripened soft cheese, due to the way it is made, and the moisture content. It is an ideal breeding ground for listeria. Cutting the rind off makes no difference to the (albeit tiny) risk.

I've had uncooked brie (rind and all!) a few times this pregnancy, so I'm not judging, but you are better referring to the NHS guidance, than listening to your consultant.

I get that goats cheese in for my ds and its lovely. Cant face it just now though.
Whats the score with stilton? Is that ok or no??

glat · 29/12/2018 21:22

Thanks all. It didn't have a rind. I ate a load and it was so good 😋

Stilton is fine. NHS guidance here:

mortifiedmama · 30/12/2018 05:53

It's fine, but that's not because it's pasteurised!

UndercoverLauren · 30/12/2018 12:19

Stilton's fine?! I've been avoiding it all Christmas Shock Dammit, I wish I'd read the site more carefully...

Triskaidekaphilia · 30/12/2018 12:26

That's the one without rind so it's ok. I really want some goats cheese now!
