Right so I've come on here to vent really lol and because I feel like I can't get my opinion across because OH just doesn't get it.
We went round to his mum's on boxing day and his brother has bought lots of lovely DESIGNER outfits which I've never bought myself tbh. We was then looking at nursery furniture as his family are buying it and his brother said we should go for the more expensive one and he would put the difference to it which is lovely.
However this morning his mum rang and my boyfriend told his mum that I'm 'put out' by all of this!
I asked him what he meant when he put the phone down because it really hurt my feelings as it just makes me look ungrateful and I'm really not. It's just all so overwhelming.
His come back was that I am put out by it all and I always pull faces when someone offers to get something which is far from the truth, I always comment and say that's lovely.
Sorry for the rant but seriously am I over reacting? Or could just be my hormones lol

Why does he say you pull faces if you're saying you don't? One of you must be right?

Either way, just ring his mum and put her straight.

You pull face due to being overwhelmed and happy is the way to phrase it

His mum wasn't funny at all, she just laughed and said oh I've told his brother to calm down with the clothes as he won't wear them all but I'm fuming he's basically made out I'm ungrateful when I'm really not!

Whether you pull faces and aren't thrilled or you are over the moon, you aren't over reacting to your partner calling up his family and making them and you feel awkward about the whole thing. If he felt that way he should've had a chat with you first, that's really unfair what he has done. Why would he potentially want to make your relationship with his family difficult and portray you in a bad light? I'd be really careful if I were you OP sounds pretty naracasistic behaviour to me. Hope you're OK. X

He probably should have asked you if you were put out before declaring it to his mum. Even if you did make a face the two of you should be a team. I don't think you're being unreasonable. Call his mum and explain that you aren't put out and tell him to talk to you first next time.

Thanks guys, he came upstairs apologizing to me and said he didn't mean it how he said it.
Anyway we're going round later for tea, so I'm gonna make him squirm and explain himself in front of his mum haha 😊
