Sugar and vomiting

Well as if pregnancy wasn't hard enough, I've realised that my sickness is directly linked to how much sugar I consume. Quality streets and fudge for Christmas have just led to a very awful vomiting session!!

Anyway, was just wondering if anyone else had ever had sugar relating to their morning all day sickness? Is this just one of those things or does it link in any way to gestational diabetes? I know there is the old wives tale of savoury for a boy too but who knows!

opposite, sugar was most reliable thing to stay down. Or at least I could digest some b4 i puked.

I guess you could experiment but who wants to? Hope you find foods that do settle easily, soon.

Both my pregnancies I've gone right off sweet things, and I normally have a very sweet tooth! Also find dairy turns my stomach so chocolate is doubly bad. No gestational diabetes last time!

I'm the same! Sugary drinks, fruit, etc all make me feel very queasy (I'm 29+4). I don't have gestational diabetes.

I wasn't able to eat sweet things at all during the morning sickness phase in either pregnancy, they made me feel incredibly sick. The old wives tale of a preference for savoury meaning a boy wasn't true in my case - it was the same in both pregnancies and I have a DS and DD.

I also found sweet stuff set off my heart burn later on so the thing I most looked forward to post delivery was being able to enjoy chocolate again!
