Panicking because I drank at 3 weeks?

So I got my bfp a few days ago and I'm so happy about it, the only thing is that I can't stop worrying because a week before I got my bfp I went to a Christmas party and had a fair few alcoholic drinks. This is my first time being pregnant and I just can't stop worry about whether or not I've harmed the baby! I had also eaten some of the foods you're recommended to not eat during pregnancy :(
Does anyone else get this?

Don't think they're even being nourished through the placenta at that age. They will be fine.

I was absolutely and uncharacteristically shit faced at 3 weeks. I'm surprised I didn't pass out actually. I'm not a big drinker but I'd just passed my PGCE and went on a Jaegerbomb bender. Got my unexpected bfp when my period was late. DD is 6 now and perfectly healthy. Congratulations!

I wouldn't worry as a lot of people don't even now when they are pregnant at 3 weeks also the umbilical cord isn't attached intil 5 weeks so baby should be fine

Piffpaffpoff · 25/12/2018 16:47

All of us who got the bfp at Christmas worry about this I think?
I got absolutely trollied at my Christmas night out then found out a week later I was pregnant. 13 yrs later my DC is now taller than me and perfectly normal. I don’t think 1 night of excess is going to cause a problem. Good luck!

Don't worry. I'm a midwife and this is common because most people don't realise they are pregnant until at least 5 weeks. At this stage the baby is not directly connected to mums blood supply for nutrition

Babygrey7 · 25/12/2018 16:51

Well, lots of people did this in the bad old days..

The strict no-drinking thing is relatively new thing

I had many margaritas, tequilas followed by food poisoning from eating dubious seafood....baby was fine

Don't sweat it Smile

A few drinks is nothing, really it isn't

FissionChips · 25/12/2018 16:56

What’s the point of even worrying? You can’t change it.

The baby won’t have been harmed.

wishingitwasfriday · 25/12/2018 16:57

Most people won't even know they are pregnant then. Congratulations, but in the nicest possible way, get a grip. There will be many many worries from now until your baby is born, please try not to worry about things you can't change.

MelNatalie it is going to be OK, believe me. I had a huge jar of uncooked cockles the week before getting my BFP. If you don't know, you don't know and at that stage the embryo is not nourished through the placenta anyways.

ArlaxA · 26/12/2018 14:49

Try not to worry, especially at your early stage the baby doesn't feed from the placenta. In my first pregnancy, I had no idea till I was 18 weeks pregnant. It was my 18th birthday at the same time and I drunk extremely heavily on two occasions, my 18th birthday when i would have been 12 weeks pregnant and my friend's birthday when I was 16 weeks pregnant. My son is 6 now an absolutely fine, I felt awful but the doctor told me unless you drink regularly throughout the second and third trimesters then it's unlikely to have caused any harm or alcohol fetal syndrome which was what I was most concerned about
