I no it’s common to get infections in pregnancy with all the hormone changes but the other day I was shaving and I used shaving foam instead of gel layer that night I was itchy I think the shaving foam has gave me an infection who would o see about that as I’m in my first trimester do I see a nurse or do I go to a normal place where they check you out ?

Or it could be an allergic reaction? Did you cut yourself? If not, allergic reaction might be more likely.

See a pharmacist. If they can't give you anything, gp.

Never heard of getting infections in pregnancy. Never heard of hormones causing infections. Never heard of shaving foam giving you an infection.
Do you mean an allergic reaction?

SuperstarDJ · 25/12/2018 07:32

Is it a rash? Sounds like a reaction or you didn’t moisturise enough afterwards rather than an infection.

mortifiedmama · 25/12/2018 16:54

It's far more likely to be shaving rash because:

  • skin is more sensitive in pregnancy
  • to used a product you don't normally use
  • infections are cause by bacteria, not by shaving gel/ cres / foam

I wouldn't see anyone. I'd leave it and wait.

Yes, infections are more likely in pregnancy, but that's because your body lowers it's immune response so as not to attack the foetus.

Pretty sure you can't get an infection like that from shaving unless you don't clean yourself properly Hmm

I’m really sensitive to shower gels and when I googled it it said it was an infection caused by the shaving foam maybe a reaction to it. I’m a 30 year old adult I no how to wash eatojesy

Sounds like an allergic reaction.
Try putting some aloe Vera on it.
