Hi All,
I'm looking to find out information and would love to hear about any experiences or advice one could give for breastfeeding. I am a third year student creating a tv talk show based on the subject that is breastfeeding and would love an input from mums with their own stories and experience.

Any and all information would be greatly appreciated!!

I found breastfeeding easy after the first two weeks when it hurt. Breastfeeding bras are horrible! Esp if you ahve a big bust anyway, so uncomfortable and no support if walking etc.
A few friends who FF were surprised when I said I bf was much easier than I expected and ab easier otoion as no sterilising etc.
Expressing is a nightmare, hard to do, sore and no milk unless first thing. This is despite me producing a lot of milk generally.

It was hell, I tried for months and it never got any easier. Bleeding nipples every single feed. The “support” I received through nhs and breastfeeding charity was laughable. Was on the verge of pnd. Started bottle feeding EBF at 4 months then moved to formula. My world changed for the better and life became happier again. From the day I stopped my nipples took 4 months to heal and are still scarred. Will try again with next baby (currently pregnant) but if it doesn’t work out after 6 I’ll move on. I also know where to go for help this time - not midwives. A proper lactation consultant.

4 yrs 3 months. Dd grew up and fed her own baby 4 yrs 9 mo.

How: when the baby comes out, put her to the breast until she walks away.
When: unlimited access
Why: this is how we evolved/are designed.
Where: everywhere.
To cover?: no. T shirt and cardigan, no need to expose.
To avoid pain from the start ( I learned this later): positioning. Masses of firm pillows and cushions. Sit with your back straight and hold the baby high so she doesn’t have to pull on the nipple. Wiggling ears show a successful latch.
Reward: it’s all rewarding but special bits are when your baby starts to talk and can tell you how much it means to them, and when your grown daughter breastfeeds her own baby.
This is the best thing you will ever do. Really.
